It's because if the PR team would keep all the maps (there is a ton of them) the mod would take too much space, and some of the old maps wouldn't play well with today's PR gameplay. For exemple, Korengal Valley might be removed in a next update since it's old, small and laggy.

Yes look at 0:26 - 0:30 it really sounds like a music part you would hear in old 8-bit game like Duke Nukem.

it's not. Im not familiar with orchestral instruments , but I know it's not something electronic.

40mmrain, it is a electronic string sound of an asian origin, unfortunately I don't know any ppl who can play the real thing. Good sythetic string sounds are waaaay too expensive, usually they are in the soundbank of high end keyboards or virtual instruments.
As far as being 8-bit???? You fellas need your ears checked.

Well, Submox, you have to admit, that those vibration effects on those so called "8-bit" (since they sound so "cheap", not that expensive) sounds do sound bad, especially the 2nd chord from that spot on (this link starts from point 28 sec. automatically @ PR music 1 - YouTube) sounds toooo bad*ss... -.-
