This is a very good tip indeed. I see it used more and more which is a good thing. You can actually this in a lot of games. Use the top of the hill as a wall like web said. When return fire is incoming all you have to do is hit prone (or crouch) and your safe ^_^
To explain the no prone situation when you think you took fire: In PR the shooter is settled in on your meaning his shot will not deviate a lot. So if he managed to hit you once, chances are he'll hit you again and take you out if you go prone. Thats why I always prefer to run away from the spot I got hit at and take cover somewhere else. Guessing the direction the shot came from if I'm not sure.
But lot of things will just come to you after playing some more. A lot of stuff just takes time. Learning the maps for example. This helps to guess what happens next

A lot of games usually play out in a similar way. frontlines wise.

Thats an extremely handy tip. From years of playing Operation Flashpoint, i need to try and remove that mentality. I have started to run for cover more instead of hitting prone and whilst i don't die alot in games as i am generally aware of my surroundings (unlike the video shows) and when taking fire i have being wounded and hit less.

i still have a habit of going prone when im being engaged. your supposed to croutch if you have to. but really when someone opens fire on you. run to the nearest cover.
1/ move with friendlies in front of you.
2/ always look for a place to hide behind every step of the way.
3/ when they start shooting at you find a place where you arnt easily flanked from your right or left
4/ Use cover that is at eye level when crouched that way you can go prone when you need to reload.
5/ try not to die in a place where the medic cant get you up. that can kill the whole squad.

Glad I could help! Psyko also brings up an extremely good point. If you go prone you'r deviation resets for a few seconds. So you wont be able to return fire accuratly. This is to eliminate prone divers (dolphin divers

). So keep that in mind and go crouch as Psyko said

By the way, i plan on recording some more footage today/tonight, i spoke with a couple of you last night about it but FRAPS didn't like opening whilst i was ingame and i was too lazy to leave the game and restart it, plus i was in a decent squad.

The hardest thing I find about PR is to swallow your pride and jst disengage when you're disadvantaged. Yes, sometimes you win when you push a bad situation .. But unfortunately people normally don't. It's like a magnetic force that draws squad-members away from their tasks as well, all of a sudden someone has requested marksman from a nearby crate and got ego-based tunnel vision lol.
(Not related to you btw OP, really enjoying your Thread too, good vids!)

I only watched the first video, but I noticed you never knew what your squad leader meant when he told you to shoot at markers and such.
Hit left alt, and you'll be able to see markers in 3D space out to 100 meters (after that they disappear) and not have to check your map.
Welcome to PR.
