I did everything suggested in this thread:
unistalled PR and reinstalled it, patched it with 0322 patcher and set all videosettings on medium execept antialiasing. I tried different patch orders as well with and without antialiasing on and all other video settings on medium like
BF2->1.4 full->PR->0322
BF2->PR->1.4 full->0322
BF2->PR->0322->1.4 full
.... and I still get a ctd after every mapload.
I did however install new drivers for my Soundblaster Audigy II, and I will see if reinstalling old drivers might do the trick.I do not have very high hopes on that, so please help me out here
EDIT:
The old driver didnt do the trick either.

Hmmm bf2 problems can be frustrating. Right now I can't play online at all since I get a ping of around 1500 usually, even though I clock my internet at very high speeds.
Anyways, is your video card listed under the supported cards in the vbf2 readme? Maybe try going over the install location and files with it with Thomas to see if they are correct.

thx for your conserns guys. I have really no idea why I get a CTD after every mapload, so not just on Ejod. I have played PR lots of times, the problem seems to be 1.4 or prmm_0322 patcher related, but it can also be something else. I just dont know.
to answer you question: my graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, and I played BF2 and PR mostly on low settings to get the most framerates and get rid of shadows in-game

I resolved my issue, just turning Terrain at medium and textures at Medium
I loved what this issue in this map do, I have a 9600 and always played against players with better video boards and them do tha same as you, play in low, if only this CTD could happend in Jungle Fever and Mao Valley.

that is whats makeing it crash. If the warer anim speed is changed to 1 then its fine. Im hopeing its just going to be a server side fix with any luck. If so we can put out a small hotfix for the server admins to download and install on there servers
If not it might take till next version to get this fixed.

Does this error only occur on EJOD Desert?

Ejod desert only crashes because low detail maps werent generated. Set your video for terrain to medium or high.

Thanks guys, especially Nesa-ltd.
Changing my video settings to LOW seems to be what caused my problem.
I changed them back to MEDIUM and I can play EJOD Desert again.
If it's a simple bug can we have a fix in version 0.5?
