don't berate peeps for not donating chaps, its all voluntary.
the only really big point that stands out money wise is as Ploddit says, lots of peeps are paying for servers that never get populated, working/merging with other clans to fewer, better and populated servers helps PR even more than a couple of dollars to help us with server costs etc

Indeed, good attitude is the best thing you can bring to this community.

I have no card either, I'm really almost always paying cash. I'd have to do this via regular bank transfer. However, it wants me to sign stuff before I can even see the transaction methods available, which kept me from donating so far. Maybe the layout should be changed a little (And don't worry Rudd etc. I actually do consider donating at the moment, I certainly think the PR devs deserve my money more than any normal developers).

The Main Nav bar has 8 buttons, none of them for donations.
The Right ads column has 6 zones, none of which lead to a donations button.
The Bottom Nav Bar has 4 links, none of which lead to a donations button.
I've been registered on the forum for 13 months and didn't know you had a donations system set up...
and I still can't find it...

If someone you don't know told you that they are going to cut your lawn, for free, would you feel bad afterwards and pay him in some way?
I know I probably won't. Hey, he's giving you a free service. Might as well take advantage of it, right?
Now lets say a friend went to go cut your lawn, said that it's for free. You would be more inclined to somehow pay your friend back.
This is why 99% of clans' donation money come from their players within the clan.
If you offer someone a service for free, don't expect to get money out of it. However, if you offer something like reserved server slots, people will be more inclined to "help out" the server if they get something back.

I'm donating in another way than transferring money.
I'm working on my guide, finishing it in a few years hopefully (writing takes time), and thereafter I will turn it into a real book and start selling copies. Depending on the price of the book, up to 50% of the surplus will go to the PR developer team. I wrote the developer-lead my book-plan some time back now.
I believe the book will be a useful donation, however, it will take time before it actually donate to the dev-team, cause writing simply takes time. At least to me it does. The book will be completely as the guide, minus videos and plus some extra content not deployed in the posted internet-guide.
Point with this post is to try and - well - point out I guess, that if you cant / wont button-donate, then perhaps you can think of donating in another way? Regardless of your age, your income and situation?
I started out thinking about my book back in 2005 / 2006. So far I've managed to complete around 30 - 50% of this challenge. The donation-part-idea, came to me much later, last year or perhaps in 2009? Cant remember - too many ideas ago.

Well, if it hasn't been answered yet
Its because BSS is not apart of a large corporation, and is tight on budget without an organization to fund them
Same with clans, unless they are sponsored, they need money

Good arguments so far,
i play PR for about more than 2 years and never donated anything. If i think about how long and how many fun i had with this mod it is worth a few Euros.

A few? No one should hesitate (as long as they have the possibility) to donate the full price of a regular new game (60-70€

.

I feel guilty. Steam says I've played Battlefield 2 for 285 hours. I haven't touched vanilla BF2 yet. If I donate, do I get a "supporting member" banner?
