WE'RE ALL SERIOUS!!!! GGRRRRRR BE AFRAID!
I'm just joking of course, everyone.... okay, nearly everyone is very kind and loves to have fun!
You'll meet a large range of age groups ranging from 13 year olds which are quite rare (i started when i was 13, 16 now) all the way upto 50-60 year olds. Also if your lucky one or two females might be around

And most of all enjoy yourself, if you arn't enjoying yourself then leave the SQ or server and find another. Although this game does take some time to get used to for some.

I can't tell whether they are girls, or 11 year-old boys with squeaky voices...

So. Just got my PC built last night. Installed the full collectors edition. Ran BF2 fine. Installed PR at lunch and now neither works. Ran as admin.
So BF2 worked before the PR install. Should I not install all the add-on that came with the collectors edition?

Have you installed patches 1.41 AND 1.5? They are essential for PR to work. Also do not install the complete collector's pack. Just BF2.

Yes. Patches were applied. But I did have everything installed from the collectors edition. Will try without. Thanks.

There was a guy playing with us a while back, I remember his name but won't say it. He sounded REALLY young, but credit to him acted like a very veteran player - He was SL and had a good way of talking!
Maybe OT, but good lad!
Oh, also, a female player was on mumble about 5 months ago when everyone was spamming it because the game was going slowly (insurgents). I nearly fell off my chair, It's so unusual I thought I was going a bit mad. Good on her for playing.

I remember a couple of very young players (some sound less than 12 years old) that new the game very well, and didn't mess about. He used proper radio communications, and was a very good player!

Pro tip: Join a CLAN...
Its the best way for you to develop your technique, in game its awsome (since you dont play with retards) instead you play with your clan!!!

Hello, I'm as new as they come. Just got BF2 last night and got PR installed this morning.
Quick random question, mini map. I'm playing single player games by myself to learn the game, but my mini map is not showing up, yet in all the Youtube videos I see, it's there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been playing PR for around 2 years now, and I'm not sure about your question. I think squad leaders and pilots are the only people to get a minimap; others just press 'M' to bring up a quick full-size map.

There are no minimaps for PR:BF2, only when you are in a vehicle.
To bring up the map, press 'Caps Lock' or 'M'.

Awesome, thank you.

Squad leaders do not get the mini map, just to clear that up. Only in vehicles.
Welcome to PR and the forums! Feel free to ask if you have any further question, and make sure to read the manual. Also, it'd be best if you had a working mic/headset while playing, so you can communicate with your teammates. Always join a squad and talk to them. If they're ignoring you, join a different squad. Try to stick with infantry until you're familiar with the game, and don't learn to use heavy vehicles or aircraft on a normal server; if you crash one, they might not return for up to 20 minutes and cost your team a lot of tickets.

Another question indeed (I'm sure I'll have more that I can't find in the manual). So, it takes two men to capture a CP and it can take up to a minute. How long does it take to neutralize one and how many men? Or, does it just have to stay un-captured for so long?
