personally I find one operation barracuda more than enough, unless you mean of course a 4km map with multiple islands to be conquered.
that actually would be quite nice, though it should be welldesigned for else gameplay would be shattered.

edit: talking about WiC, what about a southern france invasion by the russian blacksea fleet? (come to think about it... assault on toulon, french naval base with forts, think of RU vs. Fr muttrah with some islands)

anyway ratface: the idea of French contra Russians is very interesting ;)

The concept and idea is really great. Asset wise, youll have to consider a bit.

I'd do it this way.
For USMC, i'd put in AAVPs, boats and trans choppers. There would be one attack huey. Also, its important (after you reconsider the land to water ratio, as others have stated) to move the carrier close enough to the land, so USMC can use mortars from the carrier to aid the attack. Also for 4x4, beach would be long, so you would have to place 4 or 6 flags along the beach and then "bundle" them togethere in such manner that everytime closest two are picked, especially if there would be only 4. After both beaches have been capped, a depot becomes active (like muttrah or barracuda) and one Abrams at a time is avaliable. Also the paradrop spawns... Whole team can spawn then and then come behind the emplacements and render them useless. It would be better to make Para version of the classes, like Germans on silent eagle and then drop people from a huey if they want.

For Russians, or whoever, (MEC with woodland came would be awesome, MG3! :D ) Id set spawns on beach and in their main, with possibly 2 tanks with a delayed spawn, 10-15 minutes. APCs for transport.
ZPUs along the coastline, but in such manner that they cannot fire at incoming vehicles, only in the air, otherwise it would be overkill.

Something like that, i'd say. Playing the map will reveal more... :D

haha the ideais awesome, please let the blufor only have the carrier in the beginning with mass hueys so we have a massive helicopter vs. ZU-23 or even ZSU-23-4 :D that would be epic, especially with 128 players!

lol, that would be omaha beach in the air, instead of casualties on the beach you'd see hueywrecks :p

haha, i like these ideas! Actually, for the west coast invasion setting, I had an idea from before for the russians to attack north bend, oregon (check it out on google earth!), but it would be very static heavy with the amount of city there is and we dont have many (if any at all!) U.S. homeland statics.

This was my first idea before the invasion of france idea, but I switched it to a USMC v MEC because of the lack of statics, and because the gameplay would run smoother on a desert map.

As for assests, i was thinking about what ChizNizzle had suggested (Fantasizing about 128 players, lol), with the US having a paradrop spawn AND a spawn at the carrier (allowing a choice of attack for the USMC), AAVs, CAS hueys, possible Cobra, and trans hueys, with Tanks spawning in at the VCP after being captured, while the opfor would have trans choppers, light armor, AT guns defended key roads along the coastline/map, several ZPU's entrenched in the beachline and a bit inland, and armor that spawns 20 minutes in to mimic reinforcements being delpoyed :)

I believe the asset structure would be similar on my west coast invasion map as well!

This is much of a fantasy right now, but it's something that gets me excited to map! :D
