In the first PR:Z beta test some players complained that they couldn't find their way because they're too used to the minimap and there isn't one in PR:Z Survival game-mode so their orientation awareness was very limited.

So we have made a players map and implemented it using our own map overlay. This way the players can have their simple map while keeping the original minimap for admins/CO to use. And in future game-modes where the minimap might be active for all players (playing as a team and not against team mates) the overlay will allow us to load a transparent picture with some extra information on top of the original minimap. That was in fact what it was developed to do... add DODs and other important information.

The players map is a simple but effective representation of the roads, buildings, suburbs, fields and forests of Dovre. It is made in fabric as it is stronger than paper and can better withstand weather conditions and extensive use. We could have washed it but I kinda like the bloody stains as they remind you of the dangers ahead.

As you can see on the picture, it has a toggle button for on/off. It's not really needed for now but as I explained before, it will come in handy if you do have the minimap below.

PR:Z v0.0.5.0 is ready for beta testing. We will be testing it on the 14th of December.

As you can see, it allows us to download (& update), Install/Uninstall and Enable/Disable the minimod. It is a great tool that will make the whole process a lot easier for the users and for the developers.

It's not "closed" per say but requires a bit of effort.

You can become a tester by having a chat with me on TS and registering on the forum [3dAC] - both TS IP and website address). You then get added to the Survivors user-group and from that point on will be notified by PM of any SGE/PR-Z event as well as getting access to some spoilers.

Then whenever there is an event, you simply sign-up on the website if you can or cannot participate in it. Players who don't sign in with their availability eventually get removed from the user-group and stop being notified. Most people can't be bothered so they don't get access or loose it rather quickly... that's their choice though.

I prefer to have a strict organization on anything that I dedicate my time to and this allows me to know with whom I can count on for help when I really need it. Most people are simply unreliable though.

PR:Z Second Beta Test is today. Wish us luck!

If everything goes well, we might have the first release quite soon. The plan is to release it late February at the latest but you know how these things work... you never really know exactly when everything is ready and bug free (or as close as possible).

Ladies and Gentleman, we are now on Moddb!! :D

PR:Z - Project Reality Zombie Apocalypse Survival Minimod

I seriously dislike unfinished projects and I would say that the vast majority of projects posted on this forum (or any forum) or on moddb are rarely finished. This is the reason why I delayed this for so long... but since we are getting close to a release, I believe this minimod deserves to be added to the moddb list, so I finally created its page. This will be useful not only to showcase our work but also to attract more players. Players which will hopefully stick around and play PR Vanilla as well.

We will continue posting updates on this thread but I would advise everyone to keep an eye on our moddb page as it is a lot easier to find the info and media than going through this thread.
