What I am going to try is disabling my modem/router that is darn telephony's firewall.

But, i know other PR players have comcast. While I was playing for about 6 min last night before a server crashed, I was driving APC and my gunner said he was having no issues with his Arris.

MAYBE it has something to do with Comcast and if you lease their modem?

But The support devs will have their eyes bleeding after they are done reading.

Yes, I have a fixed IP currently. But was still getting disconnects. Should I still do step 2,3 and 4?

Yes, try it.
If it doesn't work, make sure to revert it to it's original settings.

Restart your PC before you test PR (to make sure the services are stopped).

So will this make all of my other devices from not being on the network?
IF I disable DHCP?

Only if you disable dhcp on your router.
But this is not necessary.

I have a motorola SurfBoard modem, not an arris, still having this issue.

i will try this but it SHOULDN'T actually make a difference, im about to change my network up so i have a fixed ip on my computer (we have a rather complex and cool as hell set up, house server and switch ect)
but my IP address lasts 24 hours, so in theory i should only loose connection right at the time of my lease ending and switching over, its a solid connection for that period of time BUT i will see if this works, i have a feeling it wont but good job if it does. . haha as we all know computer and games do some weird s**t

Will test after work tomorrow.

what??? i just changed my IP to Fixed permanent IP. . . .then when i turned DHCP off it lost connetion to the internet . . so thats not gunu work

Do not turn DHCP off if you are testing one thing at a time!

What I seem to realize... is that.

1.the Modems are trash. (derp)

I think it's something with Firmware or such?



People in 1.0 I know have comcast, I know that there is a few. IS there a way to find out that they have Comcast or a certain ISP?

Spriggan had these issues in his old place. He moved yesterday and now he can play PR without disconnects.

It's definitely a connection/setup thing.

aw ok haha, well i have deverted back entirely now, seemed like a step by step guid was was a little confusing. but yeah i had a cisco engineer sitting right next to me, he has helped me and dicused it with me and there is no way it our network (well not ours personaly here) so like you said it must be somthing to do with the firm ware or even somthing ou our computers themselfs, as i also had the same problem with battlfieldplay4free that alerts me to punkbuster but iv done everything i can there

He change ISP? New modem/router? Same computer?

DBZAO u remember me playing a round or 2 with you right ?? I didn't disconnect for about 3 round
I think it's firmware. But hell what do I know

It's funny. When ever I can play over 15min with no disconnect. The server crashes later in the round. Lol

And seems like Comcast is flipping us customers off, many report of Netflix, Onlive, Games... Not much call of duty crashes tho.

I moved and now have a new router which Comcast has provided. New connection, same computer, same provider. I haven't played long enough to confirm that moving has solved anything.

You probably did something wrong or missed something.
When you manually set your IP, you must enter a valid gateway and DNS server too.

Hey yeah sorry i posted this without doing that, a had a blonf moment and had the cisco guy help me out, didnt change a thing, c*nts f*cked mate

ow and even before that mines is a static ip for a 24 hour time in period then the lease will run out, but if im still using it nothign will change and ill still be one it, and only will the ip be up for grabs in the 'pool' of ips until i havn't conneted to if fot 24 hours, so im allways on the same ip

so, after everything not working i decided i would completely restore my computer, it needed doing anyway and figured it MIGHT help anyway. no effect, well, i did DC but it could have been genuine, ill try again tommorow but i feel as though it made no difference, but i no it rules out anything being wrong on my computer (program and bugs wise) it's self and i no my network is good. . so i'm completely lost. . just gunu have to wait until someone comes up with a fix (but i will test it on a mates connection that i no works on PR)

I am going to post some thread on Comcast's forum about this...

It sounds like to me that us Comcast Users can't play any online game!

Has anyone tried Playing vBF2? Or any other online game?
