Its an old discussion in PRTA. Basically the APC squad wanting to use high caliber weapon stations as light tanks, opposed to infantry with 1 imbedded APC/IFV working along side them denying the APC squad of their favourite vehicle.
Its Infantry Whores vs. Asset Whores.
And the Infantry is winning the vote..

Not really. Really, I don't care about this vote much. Since, if I want to do a APC squad, then I have to go to another server to get a APC/IFV asset. I've only played on this server a few times since the creation of the rule, and I didn't mind it. I saw like 2 squads that were supposedly MECH-INF... but where more like: "APC+FREE KIT". 2 Friends were in APC, and the rest were pubbies on foot wandering around.
The best way to see how MECH-INF should work? Watch Dbzao's youtube channel. Yeah, he doesn't have a step by step tutorial... but it's a perfect picture to have in your head.
Again, I only experienced like 2-4 rounds since the rule was inplace. I don't know how many MECH INF squads were in the games, but it seems like it works out well. I'd MUCH rather have more INF based squads then 8p CAS squads and that stuff.

You should immediatly !r for that, administrators know that that is not allowed and they will act against it if they dont see it by themselves already.
Neither free kit squad is allowed plus Mechinf under 6 players so when that occurs you should use the !r and it should be dealt with.
On EU I'm regurlarly checking if mechinfs aren't made to ''Snitch'' apcs, and overall people start understanding what the consequences are and that it's not allowed.

Hi guys, could I get some clarification on how to interpret the rules on Operation Marlin? There is a strange spot on that map. When you build mortars in it, you will be in the DoD according to the loading screen, but in-game you will be in a completely ordinary spot that is vulnerable to mortar fire like the rest of the map.

??:

Blue area is the DoD as described by the
loading screen image as well as the map used on PRSPY. Black circles are mortar pits.

Red area is the actual DoD in-game (as in, if you walk into the red area in-game, you'll be told "You are leaving the combat zone!" and if you don't get out fast enough then you die). Black circles are mortar pits.
It's not clear what this rule means: "Nothing can be built inside your teams Dome of Death." Is it the actual in-game DoD, or is it the DoD described by the loading image? I have seen mortars built in the exact same spot by other teams/squads and some admins are OK with it and others are not. (Although, it seems that it is permitted more often on the INS matches rather than AAS ones). So I think this is a borderline scenario where it's not clear how to follow the rules.
Which one is the "true" DoD?

??:

the DoD on the loadmap should always be the same as ingame, you could make a bug report if the dont match and someone will take care an regenerate the loadmaps. this happens if you update the GPO with small edits and forget about regenerating the Loadmap Overview.

Good games the last few nights I've played here. Admins are quick when there are issues and the teamwork this server brings is really good. Great community, proud to be a part of it.

Please try to keep this as feedback about the server. That sounds like a tech problem, maybe ask in the tech support forum.

Well yeah actually it's the DEV's responsibility for making my fps drop from 30 fps in 0.98 to 20 fps in 1.2... Wtf? (And yes, this is my older machine in my other home, of course I have a super machine where I get 50 fps too...

)

Think it may be master server related issues, not sure. But yes we are aware, and it is very annoying.

NA1 - Game Server
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz
16 GB DDR3 RAM
2 TB SATA 6 Gb/s HDD
1 GBit/s-Port
Doubt we need to upgrade it. To be fair, this is not related to server hardware.

It is related to server hardware I had a server with double that memory never crashed once. PR eats memory. Its simple.

The man is right, empty servers are pretty stable compared to populated ones.
