I should start that too.. and Devfile's 24/7 albasrah... no teamwork, all whiners, newbs (and I RARELY resort to saying that)
All theyve done the past week Ive been there has been talk about paris hilton, whine about kits, and TK.
I hate how currently the US just flies over head for 4 hours pounding the insurgents with the 2 a10s and blackhawks and (apaches?)... its a city!!! people live there... what!? *BOMBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* wonder how many innocent lives we ruined... pshhhh... nevermind, we got an insurgent.
TacticalGamers room from here on out, even if i have to wait to get in...

Read the Al Basrah breif, it says something about "..all civilians bieng warned and most have evacuated, hence all ciilian vehicles should be classified as hostile..."

true, but not in .6, that text will have to change.
but still, that always seemed ridiculous to me... it doesnt really warrent free use of any bomb we can muster up and drop on a city where people would probably like to move back into.... or... maybe it does... this is america...

The text only really refers to vehicles, if it's driving... shoot it. If it's walking, take a closer look.
The idea of civilians is that the US won't be able to go nuts shooting and bombing without possible point loss.
I do think it's a bit far to start worrying about the civvies that may or may not live in the city. After all, many PR maps are cities, where people tend to live, how worried have you been about them playing PR before?

I read the text in the open beta and it is much more fitting. if people dont realize, they will soon (when their spawn time is about 5 minutes after a 10 minute run in the chopper

)

I played a full round at Al Basrah last night on the US side. I was able to get about 20 kills without any civilian deaths (except for the captures using a knife). Pilots aside, its no problem to avoid civy deaths if you look before you shoot. IMO this feature really enhances game play.

'[-=IDSF=- wrote:SykloAG']Those maps look superb. Is it just the angles or is the draw distance significantly increased? Also, were these screenshots taken with 16x anti-aliasing or scaled down from higher res pics?
Those British vehicles look top notch! (wrings hands greedily)...
no that would give lags and by the wy good to see somebody from israel

perhaps it works better if the map was called "Beirut" and the "USA" was replaced by the "IDF"... indiscriminate bombing was the collateral consequence
of the brief Lebanon war recently...

Thankyou for your most accurate and objective analysis of that incident. Very enlightening.... Do you work at CNN?
However, isn't this a computer game forum?

I've played yesterday 0.6 for the first time and everything is perfect, except russian militia still using vintage ww2 weapons intead of ak-47s and rpgs, but no big deal eheh

.
The biggest issue i saw so far was about planes.
No not their speed i liked that but
you have to cut throttle for 40-45 seconds maybe more to descend to landing speed and still try to land on an airfield almost 5 maybe 7 times shorter then real airfields ,with a plane having exact same speed of a real plane besides you dont have airbrakes or you cant slow down plane by a sharp horizontal turn yet you dont have gear brakes or a parachute attached to your plane.
That sucks big time imo , hope you guys do something about it.
I'll start a seperate thread about this soon.
THX for the great update.

I think that's been brought up before in the past few weeks, and I think the answer was that it was an engine limitation that we couldn't get around
