I can be a mapmaker, but I need to learn a bit more. BF Editor is not working on my comp now. It keeps crashing (When I select the mod I work with, which I've tried PR and BF2). I am running in compatibility mode. It keeps giving me a Directx 9 or higher required (I've got Directx 10), then crashes.

Anyways, if no one steps up as a leader, I can be one if it's needed.

As far as I know, NK uses fairly recent (70's-80's) Soviet and Chinese weaponry. We do need someone to reskin the T-72 to make the ConmaHo

IS there anyone willing to do all the reskinning?

Actually the Chonma's a T-62 reskin, but yeah, it seems most people with modding abilities are focused on all the other factions. Hell, it looks like the Iran faction's got a skinner. Also, the scope issue is low-priority, we need to at least get everything else up. We can decide if they can have scopes and what kind later. For now, are there any Koreans willing to do voices for both the KPA and RoK?

I know a few Korean people. I don't know if I can get them to record here though. If we really need voices, and no one volunteers, I can get some voices.

First however, we need to know who's going to do the reskins.

Hmm... I don't know how we'll get some modders/skinners that aren't too focused on their home nations. I'd start reading any tutorials but I am far from a computer wiz and I have hardly time to do anything, let alone mod. But I saw that someone just made a MD-500 heli for the PMC faction, perhaps he'd let us borrow it and give it a KPA-appropriate skin? It fits better than the Little Bird, technically.

And also, seeing as in 0.9 they'll have a new heavy/med/light APC setup for each faction, it gave me a revelation as to what to use. BMP-1 for heavy, VTT-323 for medium, and BTR-60 for light.

To start actual work aside from voices we should find a skinner to reskin stuff that already ingame, which would mean:
-AK-74
-BTR-60
-MD-500 (assuming we're given permission to use it)
-UAZ
-Mi-8
-MiG-29
-Su-25
-T-62
-PLA light infantry and engineer kits (engineer for the hat mostly)

That's all I can remember at least. The supply trucks probably don't need a reskin, and neither do their F1 grenades. I think the AKS-74U is good as is.

I don't know if I can do any reskinning. I don't know what programs to use. I can do some mapping. The problem is that when I go to select mods and select either PR or BF2, the whole thing crashes. Up till now, the only suggestion I have received is a complete BF2 install, so DirectX 9 can get on (I have DirectX 10 though). Before I can do any mapping, I need someone to assure me that's the only way to fix the problem. Then I can begin mapping.

The main problem is that there are apparently no willing modders. They're all working on every country in NATO I assume. And RoK forces are secondary to KPA because the USMC can provide a realistic filler for them until completion, but you need the KPA to have Korea at all. But thanks for showing interest, I thought everyone forgot this proposal.

You could just re-skin the existing Soviet equipment, and just make the ERA, Mosin, and AK-47 GP25 for the KPA.
The main focus if you do get a modder is to get all the unique stuff for the ROKA, as they have alot of models to be made.

It looks like the ROKA use BDU Woodland camouflage for the regular forces and MARPAT for Spec Ops but I haven't figured out what frontline KPA soldiers wear. The KPA also use the K11 which is sort of their version of our canceled, XM29 OICW. They issue 2 per squad, so what do you guys think about making it a limited kit to work alongside the Grenadier. Maybe, 4 per team as squads are 8 guys. 32 divided by 8 = 4 and not to make it overpowered not double it.

North and South Korea would be among my most wanted factions, next to Japan and Italy (they all make there own armor ). I just want to warn you guys that there is very little reference material for the K21 IFV and the K-30 AA vehicle, and no blueprints.

There is blueprints for the K-2 though, and decentish reference material. Here's all the material I could find for the K-21, I tried to model it but I just couldn't model such a complex vehicle with so little pictures. Here's the pics I could find if one of you guys want to try

South and North Korea are priorities. The KPA more, because we have a lot of the models, they just need reskinning. For thsoe wondering about infrastructure, it's very similar to Chinese. But if we want to do the Pyongyang map, we have got to have that huge empty hotel.

Basically we have everything with the weapons, maybe we need to make a new pistol for the officer (Makarov I'd say). A lot of that propaganda is either old or ceremonial, so it'll have a lot of older weapons.



Mostly the Type 56, it seems.

There are very few pictures, but I'd say there are going to be some AK-74s for riflemen, some SKS, and some Type 56 (perhaps for LAT, etc.). Their tanks are mostly T-55, some T-62 and T-72.
