Hey everyone! Been too long since an update. Having finishing up College for the year, and finally saving up for a new rig and buying one yesterday, decided to get some more screenshots of the map. It runs fantastic, looks a lot better now as well. I've been doing heaps of work on the terrain, adding overgrowth jungle clusters all over the mountains and working on each of the 16 flags. Going to spend as much time as humanly possible these holidays to try and get it done.

Hopefully by the end of next month I will be able to run a beta - at the rate I'm going I think I'll make it by then.

Anyway, here are some screens of the jungle on the new rig:

cool, although not too sure about this screen here, ground texture doesn't look very good and no undergrowth?

Yeah haven't done the work on the mountain-side jungle pockets, they still need grass, texturing etc as well as detail. Just a proof of concept that I can put them all over and still have ok performance, I will work on them more and make them look natural. Also havn't redone the lightmaps yet (literally only just got PR installed again then.)

Yeah hopefully they will have a few T72's around the 15-20 minute mark. I also want to give them Mi-24 Hinds along with APC's, ZPU-Truck AA and a few transport helicopters. It'll be the conventional faction so they will be fully kitted out.

To fill out some of the areas, it might be neat to have foot paths leading through the mountains. You could add little shelters and such with rocks, etc. A Ho-Chi-Minh trail of sorts.

Needs moar details ofc, but other than that - pretty good!

Especially the last 2 screens, very good mix and placement.

I will be adding tons of trails to the mountains guys, all in due time :-) They will snake up and down, through the jungle pockets etc. The idea is that they are generally hard to traverse and they make you quite open to enemy fire.

I7 @ 3ghz, XFX 5870 and 6GB RAM. I could run it fine on my old system as well which was a 7900GTX and E5200 with 2GB ram, everything just looks much clearer and smoother now. Can fly through the valleys with at least 80 FPS. Lots of tweaks to keep fine tuning, such as fog distance etc.
