Why do you hate mumble?

As i tell all new comers, playing your first game with mumble is like discovering sex after years of masturbation.

I exclusively play in servers that are heavy mumble use because who doesnt like sex?

I would love to use mumble much more often, but as many people have seen, only certain servers endorse using it, which are the only ones who use it as well. Personally i've had great times using mumble and its a great thing to use, it can make a team much more organized and prepared, but still not enough people use it. The servers that use it though are good, but the only other problem i have is finding the right mumble channel, people from opposite teams are on your team's channel or vice versa. Also that i never hear the enemy due to the 2 channel system, its a great tool, just needs to be revamped a bit and used more is all

Having Teamspeak, game voip, chat messages and Mumble is just too much to handle. I also hate that flood of idiot comments and weird noises some players are making after a round is over. I know I can mute it but easier just not to use it.

Different aspect to this is giving away position while using it. Naturally I get the advantage as well if enemy is talking but I just hate getting wasted just because people are talking too much.

On the positive side I got to say its awesome aid while inside a transport.

For that matter only a few servers employ tactics and coordination in their games. If I dont have that, then I cant enjoy playing PR, because at this point its just a run and gun game with outdated grafics.

I think if they integrate mumble somehow, everyone will use it and the game will be a hundred times better. As it is now, people are too lazy to set it up, and not every server even has a channel.

This would be the best change they could ever implement.

I do use mumble but unless it's Saturday on the UKWF server, barely any other players on each server are.

TG uses it constantly, as does PRTA, and Pelitutka. It is also frequently used on NWA and NEW.

To handle multiple voip programs. Assign one more key for local speech on mumble. Make the force center key to talk to everyone shift + your radio key on the other voip porgram, while pressing that other key only, activates vent or whatever you are using.

I use mumble whenever possible. I understand how people have a negative reaction to it. However mumble complaints diminish proportionately relative to the awareness of it's usefulness.

At first I had many complaints with it.

• alt+tab delays. A new computer solved this.
• Finding a server channel that supports and polices their mumble channel from spammers & ftarts, use squad lead channel. TG is one of those.
• Mumble sometimes stops working.

I actually like it a lot, but honestly get really drawn away by the huge **** people keep sending in it. One guy sends music, other one keeps making weird noises and when there's nothing to do, people have long off-topic discussions in the damn mumble about most ridiculous things. Once some guys were talking about tea and teapots around me while I was sitting in tank defending a road. It just annoys me to incredible lengths.

What mumble needs is active admining to make it enjoyable, I don't know how its nowadays as I haven't been playing PR too much, let alone used mumble. But when I used it there was always someone making noises and other stupid stuff and when admins don't respond, more and more people begin to do it. This causes good/mature players to get annoyed and leave with stupid brats staying and continuing their stupid games.

When I admined RT during its beginning, I used to pretty much just sit and watch mumble for people interfering others playing for couple rounds, then play one round and repeat. Mumble needs active admins who are strict on how its used. With 64 people on the channel its pretty clear it needs policing.

You can always configure mumble with deafen or volume up/down shortcuts if people annoy you with their random convos. Unfortunately I believe going ban happy on peoples conversations is none of the admins business, if my buddies want to talk about barbie and her hot pink convertible corvette it's our right and if you don't like it step away or mute mumble.
