Looks beautiful, but a little brighter would be better in my opinion. Inside the city is too dark, I think.

But I still love the map... just my 2 cents on the light changes.

this new light is SOOOOO NICE!! the old one is like oasis, gulf, etc etc
this one is a bit alike clean sweep's, since we dont have this map anymore, having this light on an AWESOME map like this one is very interesting, and much more beautiful IMHO

cheers guys, I think by popular vote il keep it, il post some more screenys soon.
On another note, view distance has been cut down quite a bit to save fps drop. Its not exactly like karkand, but you cant exactly see halfway across the map. There will also be a single new aircraft for CAS for USMC.

Excellent! (I hope its a plane)

I love the new light settings as well, reminds me of playing Op Clean Sweep, the first map I ever played on Bf2.

Love the new look and can't wait until I can play it.

I altered the light abit more like you guys said, and got this now, again, please bear in mind that object lightmaps have not all been done so some buildings look a little flat and out of palce. well no worry il do that soon. Thanks for the input. And yes, the sky.con is a tweaked version of op clean sweep. DICE decided to name the sky type "cleansweep crazy" and I think its bootiful
old stlye dor comparison

main street into city, thumnail version of this looks like a small photo! New version
Image

Mosque looks a bit flat because not rendered it yet, the screeny cant capture it but ina game it really feels like a rising sun, off to work early kinda thing
Image

Please note this road will not be tarmac in the final version, its going to be dirt and not climbing the sides of the slope :p

Oh, I hate it when roads don't apply properly. I have to make roads 3 sizes bigger just to apply the spline, then turn it back. Looks nice though, but if you want it to look like sunrise, sunrises are brighter than sunsets, just keep that in mind. I thought you were showing a comparison photo when I saw your first screenshot until I scrolled down a little more and saw the binocs.

Looking excellent so far, especially the new sky. But one suggestion. Maybe put some market place objects such as another cart of booths, or market type objects in front of the mosque so that there is a little more cover there when running up on it. So it kind of looks like an abandoned market maybe.

There was an abandoned market or very run down market on Moscow's Red Square once. You know what happened to it? It got burned down for new economic activity. But the Prince that burned it was probably stupid or something.

Yea I had some more bits in the mosque but decided to remove it.

1.static count, performance

2.tactics. Basically all around the mosque you are able to take rooftop/ high positions. So your able to get a few guys raining down fire on the 'flag' from above, whilst the rest move in through the multiple entry points all around. There is a bit more cover than that screen shows and its not that far of a run.

But sure il add a few more bits in anyway. The entry points remind me of Counterstrike type things. They are those little archways with crates stacked either side. :p
