I never give up either, but obviously you have to sometimes, and when you die in vehicles. And your last point is right, I don't feel like harassing the admins with reports whenever I want to get switched back so that's why I don't find it very handy.

Always feel free to !report something like a switch. We often have a team of admins working together and taking turns in admining the server. We are more than happy to help every player on the server. We are hosts and want you guys to feel welcome and have a Good gaming experience on our server!

If you get switched after a death, just report it and wait. Don't try to switch over by yourself, it will only cause problems for us admins. We will switch you as fast as we can and make sure you can Join your squad again

Had really good on rounds your server tonight. Great teamwork between infantry and my APC squad.

MeRk is no longer hosting a PR main server due to a number of reasons, the training server will be coming back online at some point soon.
We tried to get clans together and make it a place where people would want to go, but due to lack of help from clans seeding,clan stacking when the server was on and the overall pain of admining we decided to pull the plug.
There was a few other issues but the main reasons are above.

BUT....

I would like to say a big thankyou to all the clans/public that did help with the server, be it helping seed/playing there and making it the PR server it was.
Your help was very much appreciated and we at MeRk hope you enjoyed yourselfs on there and may you have GG's on other servers in the future...

Only one word to describe it: Shit. If even MeRK pulls the plug, how many good servers will we have in the end? NwA, NEW (When seeded) and that's it since PRTA is dead. I hope that you guys will get a server back up after the PR1.0 release.

yeah, this is indeed sad. Didn't play much PR since the attacks on PRTA servers. But I thought MERK was doing good Anyway, take care guys. Let's all go full throttle on 1.0!

This is sad news.

I always enjoyed playing on MeRk and found it one of the best administrated Servers we have in PR. Response times were always quick when there was an issue.

Did you ever adress this to the public / the clans before making your decision?

Nevertheless, I can understand what you mean, and being a server admin myself, I know what a hard time you can have when it comes to administration, you often can't enjoy the game anymore because you have to watch reports and scoreboard all the time

I really liked playing on MERK.

admin was always on even if it only was 1. and teamplay was good most of the times.

hopefully we will see merk with a server in 1.0

Hey, dont give up Merk. U should keep ur server up! I mean PRTA has been down for quite some time, but we dont stop hosting. We keep trying, and u guys have gotten it up early in the morning before us alot of times. I really think you should continue. Seeding is always tidious, adminning and dealing with problematic clans and players are too. But I feel, that with the seeding competition and having more serious competitors in the server list. We other servers strive to become better.

Same goes for NwA and NEW, aswell as QRF and BIA. The more servers attempting to make a name for themselfs, the more references and experiences we have as admins players and groups. And the more healthy our community is in PR. Dont stop, please continue.

Merk isnt turning into a minecraft community IronDreamer so you dont have to worry about that for a second, were not changing at all its only a removal of a public server. We've made a decision for the good of the clan, so we appreciate the compliments and pleas for a return of our server, but for the time being were going to be sticking to pubbing other servers. Maybe things will change and the release of 1.0 will mean a return of the server, but thats our decision if we think its the best choice for us as a clan at that time. We're very humbled to have our server thought of in such high esteem and to be considered responsive and fair admins. Thanks again for the kind words all, i look forward to fragging you all on another server soon.

Well, sometimes its better to make a cut while it's running well, than to see the lovely thing going down nice and slow.

TG, as the most famous example, pulled the plug too. Now MeRk does it.
And I can tell you, NEW isn't in its golden era anymore aswell.

But yeah, pulling the plug for now doesn't mean it is lost forever. I hope (and I am pretty sure) that the future (1.0) will bring some new fresh air to PR, which will revive the one or the other server.

So yeah, I have't played a lot on MeRk, but when I did, I had some great rounds there.

oh I am sad. Me and .41 guys had a good time on your server. I wish you everything good and I hope some day you will host again. Maybe PR:Arma server or even PR2?
