Do the items need to be unpacked into the orignal folders?
what rar program do you use?

you cant modify the folders inside PR , you have to take them out of the pr folder,
and put them on your desktop, then you can take winrar open them, and move the folders from the modded sounds pack to the default PR files ( within winrar ) just drag and drop materials from common_client in your sound pack to your default common_client. Do the same for the soldier and weapons, drag and drop the folders from them to the default ones. Then put all the PR files you put on your desktop back in the proper place in your PR directory.

I feel like this may sound a bit complicated, perhaps i throw up a video tutorial on how to do this. Let me know if this helps

i played all yesterday with this mod on CIA and then i tried 128+ server today. of course i got kicked by PB. now i get kicked from CIA too...

so the question is did CIA change server settings to not allow it today? or was it because PB recognized it from being on sisu?

btw it sounds great. i like the actual rifle sounds as it has some echo to it. i'll let you know more if i can use it more :/

Keep in mind that servers are beholden to run the PR MD5 checks.
These will check for ANY modified content (which the soundmod falls under) to prevent cheating or errors related to corrupted files.

If you are actually able to play with this soundmod on a server without getting kicked by Punkbuster, then the server isnt using the correct settings.
To make it clear: Only use these files on a local server/singleplayer!

Yeah youre going to have to uninstall if you want to play on our server. I was just about to install and then I saw the warning in the Server Admin Forum.

I'll see what can be done about it, but dont bet on it.

I have installed anders sound mod, thou it was not as simple as it was stated in readme file.
Actually it is too difficult to handle for 80% of people out there, so I'm not gonna help you screw yourselves up.
Not that I think you guys are dumb, but it does take patience and it is fairly easy to screw the whole PR by messing with it's files - plus the punkbuster could kick/ban you for doing so.

Up to 30% of sounds I'm not really amazed. Some things sound better imo in PR original.
AK fire sounds more vBF/CoD style, lots of weapons sound too buffed up, and less realistic than in reg PR... AK submachine sounds kinda like PKM...
I like the moving sound for an individual, but in a group that sounds a bit weird... I would add few rattling sounds (yes, I do understand every soldier pays attention to strap his gear not to rattle, but it would be nice to hear something else than those boring thud sounds).

Said that,
OMG.
I mean, OMG. I could not believe PR can sound twice as good. And it can! Youtube vids that have been posted do not reflect how awesome this soundmod is. The yesterday battle on 236 SISU server sounded better than anything I heard so far.

One thing I reaaally enjoy - the sound of bullets flying around, or ricocheting nearby! The sound alone (even without suppression effect) pins you down. Running under fire is a new and scary experience.
Distant sounds are amazing. Explosions and gunfire sound real. You may think "but they already are... ?" - wait till you hear this.

All together, I do not like some of the sounds, as I think some of the rifles sound different than in real life (original sounds alone could be better), but the echoing effects, ricochets, and distant fire brings new level of reality to PR.

Remember, youtube videos recorded with camera mics sound different than IRL. So dont them for reference.

Backed up my original files but now the game crash on start up. Reinstalled the whole game but it crash on start up any way. Not sure if the readme is old or not up to date.

for those wanting to install: if it sounds intimidating to open 8 rar archives and replace files you shouldn't try it.

its too bad that it would be over 1gb to just send the whole files with mod in them. would be easy to just drag and drop into pr directory.

is it even possible for PB to allow 2 different file situations?

Yeah, I'm thinking of putting in supersonic crash. Too bad that you cant separate .50cal, 762 and 556 to use supersonic sounds and 9mm to only use wizzes. I would've done it if BF2 would allow it. But it seems that if I want supersonic cracks from bullets, it applies on every damn gun, wich imo isn't realistic. Thats why I dont have supersonic cracks in. But I think I'm gonna try it anyways. :) Maybe people don't mind.

Cant the DEV's release a sort of mini-patch in the next days with the sound mod just to "oficialise" it and make it playable online?

Which gun does not fire supersonic projectiles in PR anyway? Apart from the 100mm gun on the BMP?

They can't yet!

They need 100% guarantee that I haven stolen any the game companies sounds out there. They need to be my own sounds-references.

Right now I'm working on a 100% of my own sounds, not stolen and I've come pretty far with them...

So once I send them my sounds and they like any of those sounds, they'll probably come into the next update. We can only hope. That's the info I've got.

What I know small arms like 9mm pistols and submachineguns don't fire supersonic projectiles cause theyre not that fast as rifle rounds.
