As for the trouble of explaining... well... read the readme? I mean shit son, why can't anybody ever read documentation? Its a program that has a slew of new features. When I first installed mumble I had to set the push to talk key myself to suit my keyboard set up. I managed just fine to figure it all out. I read the first page of Mumble Beta Thread to see what was actually new. I informed myself.

Where did everyone's brains go? Why do we need hand holding? If you don't know how to use a program read the instructions, or ask someone the second you get in server. Its not rocket surgery!

Anybody who's played PR for 5 minutes knows this is a game that rewards effort. It requires it just to have fun. Compared to all the effort put into a single round of PR, how much does it take to read the friggin instructions? With that said, if the worst is just having to say "Its Zero on the numpad", then we're getting off lightly.

Sometimes, I just roll my eyes at people and pour myself another shot so that I can cope with the reality of it all.

Simple stupid setup time, so when you are ingame, you focus on the game. Not everyone reads or speaks perfect english. So they cant read documentation, not everyone takes PR as seriously as you funk.

Pluss, if we want more people to use mumble and play PR, having a more service minded and salesman attitude goes a long way.

Right down the effin' drain it seems. The amount of retardation nowadays (Not just regarding PR) is immense. I am no wondeboy myself, but please, common sense should be common.
Worst is, that when you tell people that there is stuff written, that they can read it themselves, they are all butthurt and somewhat unsatisfied with you and go away, probably dropping everything. Then you are the smartass. Well, hell yeah i am, i can read.

Intelligence is constant, however population keeps growing.

The same can be applied to PR.

Some people are lazy, but if you cant take a couple of minutes to doubleclick, press next a couple of times, then launch, run a wizard and hit next a few times I think its the wrong game for ya. :P

Damn skippy, it's not easy being a noob, there is so much that isn't in the manual that you just have to pick up. When I first started playing I got booted from a squad because I didn't know what a LAT was, it was only after asking someone in an australian server that I found out what it meant. It's all very well to say alot of this stuff is common sence, but the vets who have been here since the begining forget they got used to everything as it was introduced, (such as everyone being a buzz about the new mortars, there were videos and discussions about it before they were ingame, or anything else thats not in vanilla BF2).

The problem is not the noobs, it is us "PRvets" this time.

None of us want to take responsibility to bring em along to where we are.

If PRTA took the steps to implement 100% Mumble then awesome, I hope it keeps populated late enough for the U.S. to try it. Though I have noticed in the past that Mumble in the U.S. seems less popular.

But, when I said there were only 3 servers populated, PRTA was not one of them.
Your hectoring tone aside, what on earth does the learning curve for new guys have to do with overall teamwork?

We're on about the overall teamplay, not how a squad plays.

The overall teamplay is defined by the Asset users, commander and Inf SL's. Who are all vets and unrelated to new guys.

Unfortunately I have been witnessing this kind of behavior a lot lately. As I see it, PR Vets God like behavior causes more harm than a noob ever will.

One thing which i dont get is that, new mumbles has been released and it has good and new fuctions like squadchat and talking to directly to squadleader. And sometimes when i ask team chat for example is squad 3 leader on mumble and the squad 3 its full of people from clan X.
The answer is sometimes that '' why should we be on mumble, we are allready in clans teamspeak'' Thats pissing me off. I hope someday everyone would be on mumble in every server not just in enforcing server.

Some people play PR with a strangerdanger mindset, nothing you can do about it.

Well then you tell them they get reserved slot if they join mumble and voila problem solved :)

OK, I think we need a compromise.

Coddle one new player, MAXIMUM, a night. After you take care of one new player, shut the door and enjoy your game.

We vets need to take care of newbs or else we will slowly but surely fizzle out like one of my KSP rockets and end up like Laika.

Coddle, not cuddle, new players are not your wife, unless it is your wife then go ahead and do both.
