Re: Your most stressful Role
Medic, but I only play Medic so... *shrug* It can get stressful, perhaps frustrating would be a better description, when ppl want to get revived but are impatient about it. (Almost) No one wants to wait for a single smoke gren to smoke up. They call out a few times over voice comm, maybe wait 10-15(30 at most) secs then tap out. Ugh! Makes me want to kick them in the crotch! Then there is the stress I put on myself with me seeing a friendly down & wanting to get to them but can't for one reason or another. Firefights don't stress me out... as long as my squaddies protect me. Squads that don't protect their Medic don't have me as their Medic for very long.
Other than my own experence? I would think Commander, SL or HeloTrans would be stressful.

Squad leader in vent trying to talk to my squad, the commander and guide my clan members in the air on target. On top of all that I am looking out for bad guys in front of me.

Medic. Cause your whole squad will be saying "i need a medic" when You are tryin to get a wounded guy up.
yea, I hate medic, but usually end up playing as one.
Then the smurf medics. I hate when they walk over you, and continue on their way. Should be a bannable offense for @$$hatting.

I'd say SL but recently I notice the pubbers on the =]H[= servers are very mature. If I get a mature squad it's not so bad. Once our K/D ratio hits 200% people start listening to my orders alot closer.

I'd Say Commander. even if I am commanding mature players, I find it hard to organize 20+ people into combat. I am ok with squad leader, as usually I let the commander tell me where to go and tell my squad to follow me there in a certain fashion. oh and Heli pilot is my second worst :/

Re: Your most stressful Role
Commanding isn't a big deal if you don't make it a big deal.
I usually just try to organize something. But most of the time i try to support people with contact reports and hope they zerg rush (or bum rush when playing BLUFOR) where most of the reports are.
The squads that actually function well can expect some good intel from me and priority on requests. The best moments are when i have 4 or more SL with mics that i can guide into attack and flank squads.
And if we lose big deal, a commander providing intel is better than no commander at all.

Commander 100% so hard to keep 4 squads at full strength, cooperating with me and working together to try and win. Helo pilot just takes some practice.

I mean calling out for a medic. So the dead guy with the heat over him yelling MEDIC!Smurf_39 wrote:actually we are pretty good medics, we get criticized for walking over fallen comrades, who assume we got heart beat sensors implanted in our heads??We dont know if ur revivable or not.

And tell him in team chat.
I know your squad is supposed to be your priority, but when they are all fine and dandy, you can take a few minutes to revive a team mate.

Re: Your most stressful Role
Flying as a transport chopper pilot is by far the most nerve-wracking. If worrying about AA while finding a safe LZ, remembering to drop crates, worrying about AA, worrying about TOWs, reading chat, reading angry chat directed at you, popping flares, looking for map grids and dodging buildings/cliff faces/trees all while having to go to the washroom or anwser the phone isn't stressful, I don't know what is.
As for all of the people finding the SL role hard, I guess I can relate, but it's a nap in the backyard hammock compared to piloting a trans chopper.

I notice "firebase management" isnt on there, so n00b = Firebase management.
But since firebase option wasnt there i chose soft skinned driver, you have to make sure you get every turn right, you keep ahead of your enemy and avoid every obstacle since failure may result in a +2 ticket loss to the 5 in your vehicle, plus the glass isnt bulletproof so your very easily killed out of the drivers seat

Re: Your most stressful Role
I have to agree 100% with this. People ALWAYS ask to get dropped off somewhere that is WAY to hot. I learned my lesson not to land at the exact location where people request.Heskey wrote:By popular neccessity; I would say Squadleading and Commanding are the most stressful jobs; especially if you're good at it.
For me, being a Transport Heli Pilot is the most stressful job:
You have to let your team know where you are, and where you're in-bound to, you have to ask the team to report any AA sightings so you know where to avoid, you have to tell people to stop firing the guns, you have to spam BAIL OUT on patchy terrain to the guy going "no i gun 4 u", You have to anticipate AA sightings as the team rarely inform you - As a result you have to make drop offs 50 meters away from the passenger's destination, to which they refuse to get out to.
And most of that has to be done via typing, whilst trying not to crash.
God save all you fellow pilots![]()
ALSO, SL is very stressful. I just played most of a round on Iron Bridge as a militia SL. It was a nightmare cause 3 out of the 5 guys i was leading were noobs and I had to keep telling them not to do things. I had named my squad RECON and told my SM not to engage enemy unless fired upon I had to repeat this continuously I asked them to please get some LAT or HAT kits which they didnt bother to do in a timely manner and then an BTR-80 rolled up to our FOB and wasted us(The guy with the LAT was prone next to a tree and killed himself when he shot it) Then just trying to keep the squad together was terrible there was this guy who joined my squad and the first thing he exclaimed over VOIP was "hey guys im a noob". He kept saying he was going to do some scouting......and I had to keep saying NO stay with the squad!
I finally wound up disconnecting. I like to think that I'm a very good SL but there seems to be a lot of noobs on now. And when people don't follow orders it makes it very difficult.

AT rifleman or Heavy AT.
If you miss than one shot, your whole squad dies and everyone will hate you.

Jet pilot. Especially when you know enemy jets are up to. You have no idea who will get on your 6 and blow you up cuz it can happen anytime.

SquadLeader,
A.) Because you constantly have to communicate with everyone at the same time.
B.) Because of the smack tards in your squad that are driving you crazy and not following orders, but you really can't yell at them or kick them out because you want to be the cool, awesome at everything SL.

Re: Your most stressful Role
I literally had to flip a coin for the poll as I find both SL and trans pilot to be stressful. Sure, leading a squad could be more stressful, but piloting a chopper is constant stress. You could get lucky with SL'ing and have a kickass squad, which I recently had the fortune to experience, but with that chopper you know exactly what you're gettin, every time. A bird with flares and an ammo box, and three seated rows people all counting on you to do your job right. You really start to appreciate other pilots.

SL + Server ADMIN
You do one or the other well.
It's just information overload
I think a lot of "omg Admin abuse" decisions come from player just trying to play and dealing with problems on the other team and things they cannot make decisions about on the fly outside their squad.
It's like when you were back in high school except in a live fire combat situation.
