1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
Definitely! All the new maps except Yamalia have I been experience FPS drop down to 35FPS on, and my video settings doesn't matter. All on high and with 8x AA gives the same ammount of fps-drops as everything on low.
2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
Around 5 (No problem at all in 0.87 with everything on high) Have a lot harder to keep up the KDR on the new maps.
3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Every new map except Yamalia. The old maps are running 100FPS as they also were in 0.87
4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
n/a
5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
The old ones and Yamalia.

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
Yes.
2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
I rate 2. I mean 30 fps is not much for having 2 x gtx285.
3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Fallujah, Beirut, Gaza, Muttrah
4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
i think it's the buildings causing the drop.
5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
Yamalia

1. Have you noticed a significant performance
decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
I never played 0.87, so no.
2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
I would rate it as a 6, because on some maps the FPS is bearable but even then it sometimes drops.
3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the
worst performance.
Fallujah West (for sure), Gaza Beach (though when in a server without any players it's a lot better), Muttrah.
4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
Fallujah when facing the motor pool and garage and when standing in fields or on the road anywhere.
Gaza Beach is better without players, but overall laggy with players 30 fps.
Muttrah = lag always.
5. Name any maps that you have
no performance issues with.
Yamalia, and I guess the old maps because everyone says so.

1. Have you noticed a significant performance decrease from 0.87 -> 0.9?
I have noticed better performance because I'm able to run a few setting higher than before.
2. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your performance in 0.9.
If 10 is all highs and 1 Unplayable then id say about a 4. I can run the game on mostly medium but I have to make a few sacrifices (No Dynamic Shadows or Lighting)
3. Name three or more maps in 0.9 which result in the worst performance.
Al Basrah, Muttrah City, Ramiel (All three, flying a chopper my FPS drops when the game attempts to draw the cities)
4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
When the game draws the cities when in a chopper.
5. Name any maps that you have no performance issues with.
All of them, only the ones with large cities when flying a chopper/plane are issues

Silent Eagle, Gaza Beach, and some others
4. From the maps mentioned above, state which specific areas/directions affect your performance the most.
The static grass is the worst! Other times its seemingly random directions that cause plummeting fps/CTDs! Sounds, animations, and menus stutter horribly on some maps to the point that it's unplayable or crashes.
5. Name any maps that you have
no performance issues with.
Most of the old ones, haven't played enough yet to tell for sure.
Note: I reinstalled BF2 on another drive and installed the full 0.9 on it. I don't know if that would effect anything, but I thought I should mention.

Fallujah, areas which lag for me the most are areas where those huge smoke clouds are, or whenever I turn to an area where they are visible to me my FPS drops from 45 to 20
The same lag is also noticed when I place that type of smoke in maps in the editor.
Lashkar, Not sure, mainly anywhere firefights are taking place my FPS drops from 45 to 35.
Dragon Fly, I just get about 40 FPS average on there, specifically when inside the city and when looking at large forested areas.

All these maps can run 50-100 fps for me, maps that run under 50 are not incl.

We are now on .95, if the DEV team desires a new thread on overall performance they will make one. Locking this one, as it is entirely out of date
