And yeah, as mentioned earlier, the reason for fools road coming via an update was to test the updater. But we did not expect to have so many critical issues that required immediate patches

Final release will probably be around 6 GB, give or take a bit
. You will not be able to update from the beta to the full version.

. But yeah, it was good to see a large update in action, gave us some feedback on some stuff

I don't think that really needs answering.Doc.Pock wrote:is there a plan for regular updates after 1.0 now that there is an updater? or do we still get to wait 6 months![]()

So Devs, answer?SShadowFox wrote:I realized that my lag was caused because, even thou I set everything but the Effects and Textures on Low, the lighting, geometries and terrain insist on staying at Medium.
Is that intended?

I've only heard that they would remove the "low" effects setting because of the exploit, didn't hear of anything else being changed.
BTW, what does "lighting" settings have to do with those "exploits"? It changes almost nothing and kills my FPS.

Is the explosion "smoke effects" shorter than they were before? It feels like the smoke should stay up for longer after impact.

I thought exactly the same few days ago but totally forgot it. Some explosions' smoke should stay definitely much longer, that could add some good points to the immersion, or even for hiding.avskum wrote:Is the explosion "smoke effects" shorter than they were before? Shadows rendering for you but not for the enemy is pretty much an disadvantage.SShadowFox wrote:BTW, what does "lighting" settings have to do with those "exploits"? It changes almost nothing and kills my FPS.

Yeah, but the enemy won't be shown as a black spot into the white wall.

Re: Ask the [Dev]s a (?)
Reason for this is probably to limit the amount of particles existing at any point in time. When there are more particles created than a hardcoded limit allows, excess particles get culled, causing effects to appear only partially or not at all. Meaning that long lasting particles will increase the chance other particles get culled. The same goes for sounds, btw.avskum wrote:Is the explosion "smoke effects" shorter than they were before? Devs, I played the 1.0 Beta and noticed something : why do I have 30 fps by looking at the sky on Fools Road with all graphic options to low, where I had around 100 with all to high back in 0.98.

Do any of the DEV's plan on streaming 1.0 on Twitch again? It's been 3 days.

I broke my mic/headphones so I can't play effectively thus I can't stream :/.Darman1138 wrote:Do any of the DEV's plan on streaming 1.0 on Twitch again? It's been 3 days.

Just noticed that it's actually the case on all the maps. Looking directly at the sky makes my fps getting lower than looking at an empty horizon.KaB wrote:Devs, I played the 1.0 Beta and noticed something : why do I have 30 fps by looking at the sky on Fools Road with all graphic options to low, where I had around 100 with all to high back in 0.98.

Rudd, why did you change you bf2 nickname? Is it because you are actually a nurse(man) now?
