Agree whole heartidly with this...

Plus Kills = Flag control on a good day, but their still has to be co ordination to know where enemy Squads are otherwise

LAT = Moans ;)

at the end of the day it all comes down to being locked away and trying to get the most kills possible using all the benefits of the SL and not wanting anyone else involved in your game unless they're pawns in other squads

As I said before I can say that Everyone in my APC squad on a round of Al basrah said it was the best round they had ever had

In fact iirc you were the commander for that round weren't you Rudd? I had 6 men in an apc squad, a driver and a gunner and 4 (including me) foot soldiers. Thanks to Rudd we had a well commanded infrastructure so rally points were unneccessary, we'd spawn at FBs more often than a rally (which I could never be bothered to set as I despise rallys)

4 soldiers available for Instant insertion for immediate support anywhere, whereas being a seperate squad takes communicating picking up and so forth

And we had the benefit of whenever picking up a squad the apc would drop us at their drop point on his way, we'd secure their drop point, APC would go get the squad and bring them in to us and they'd have instant support on arrival

Also when we needed to extract/support a squad in the city the 4 infatry were pathfinders along the streets searching for the bugger holding an RPG whilest the APC would move up behind towards the squad under fire needing extraction

In fact I'll expressed my feelings on how unlocked squads are better than locked ones (any day) in song

And whats wrong with that? APC kills enemies and hunts down FOBs = happy infantry because they should have minmal resistance.

What do you want me to do in an APC? Drive slowly behind friendly infantry acting like a big rocket magnet, or do you want me to rely on my speed and manuevrability so i can easily kill enemies beore they get that AT soldier in a good position?

Believe me, its very hard to take out APCs that are constantly moving.

What I want is for you to cover the infantry, this is done by staying back and firing on enemy positions that are firing at the infantry. e.g. when approaching those two large apartment blocks in north city, watch teh windows so th infantry can get down the street, at the crossroads, if the infantry are pinned, move up and smoke or put some HEAT rounds downrange.

doesn't matter if you take down a FOB if your APC crew is the only surviving attack element

Its even worse if the APC is destroyed while attacking a FOB (you know? the source of all AT weapons for the front lines?) infantry = left in the craphole.

Sticking together is the safest way, especially for he USMC on muttrah when the MEC APCs spawn...cuz they gonna get pwned without help.

This is not a discussion thread for APC tactics. Shtum.

Believe me mate, its not hard at all 8-)

and yes we have lost the point of the OP, which was that squads should not be locked on [T&T]'s server, so as masaq states, CASE CLOSED!

Great round of Kashan last night! I usually "hate" this map since it's so huge and I don't fly + a round takes so long. But yesterday was great and a sweet win for the US. :)

It'll say banned if it's 62/64 unfortunately, regardless of if you've been banned or not - it just means it's full

I would register here:
Tactics & Teamwork :: "Like Minded Gaming"

and take it up there, I'm sure an admin will look into your case.
