So I installed direct x to my desktop and redistrubted them to my c drive... Is that correct? ? ? Will that work?
I wouldn't do that.

Download it straight from Microsoft and install it Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

Have had the game run without any kicks for about 10 games now, but just a minute ago i got the error again.

Might also be the server, keep an eye on what servers u join. Try deleting the cache folder content (C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Battlefield 2\LogoCache)

Also, where did you place the PB Setup? I would create a folder within the PB folder found in the EA GAMES folder, because if you don't they will get deleted for some weird reason. It happened to me before...

I'm still having this problem with the MD5tool mismatch, even after reinstalling BF2 patches 1.41 and 1.5 and reinstalling PR 0.957. This is ridiculous. I didn't have this problem until I downloaded 0.957.

I believe I saw in one post a mediafire file someone posted that I downloaded for 0.917 and it worked fine after that. I can't find it this time though.

Strange.
Double check that your 1.5 patch is not any of the betas that are available.

If you want to try my file: http://rapidshare.com/files/436429387/S ... client.zip
("Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Shaders_client.zip")

Else go with manual PB update and/or reinstall.

Alright thanks man. I'll try it out. If this file doesn't work, I'll probably just redownload and reinstall PR.

Alright well you better be getting kicked by Punkbuster, because I'm getting kicked with your file :D .

I will reinstall PB and see if that works, but again, if not I will reinstall BF2 and PR.

Yes! I am no longer being kicked for my Shaders Client!....
Punkbuster is now kicking me for having some problem with packet flow. It's almost immediately as I spawn this happens.

I've played PR for some time and until recently never had this problem occur. I keep receiving the message that I've been kicked for MD5tool mismatch RendDX9x2.dll I've searched for hours through these forums, but can't find a solution specifically for this message. I reinstalled everything (BF2, BF2 updates, all PR packs, and PBsetup and PBsvc) and I still keep running into this problem. Is there a file I'm missing or maybe shouldn't have somewhere? Someone earlier in this thread suggested downloading DX9 from Microsoft which I did to no avail. I've also tried placing RendDX9x2.dll into my root BF2 folder as [R-Dev] AncientMan suggested in another thread. This also did not work. Someone please help before my head explodes from pure rage.

Did you use the file that was linked in AncientMan's thread?

Please everyone remember to update your punkbuster manually, i noticed an update the other day which is common at the end of the year i recall. Just run your pbsetup again.

I added and clarified a few steps in the original instructions. If new additions become clear to me I will edit and clarify so that the link to that post can remain the central reference point.

I have this same MD5tool Mismatch I haven't tried other servers yet since patch 0.96 but I get kicked for it on the Tactical Gamer server. Anyone figure this out? Help would be appreciated, thanks.

When I try to play Dragon Fly on insurgent mod (PR.966), this happends after 2 minutes:

Image

The Problem occured on the [NEW] - Server.
The round before I played Dragen Fly (not insurgenty) on a other Server (*NwA* - Server) without any problems.
I installed the patch again, but it didn't helped.
I never had a Problem with Punkbuster.
I have admitted to update Punkbuster while patching.

please help me
