Everything maxed, 8xAA, 16xAF on 1920x1200 resolution. Also mipmap filtering tweaked to look better.

Well I have things at a very high level. Water looks unbelievable and I still become the first person to enter the server. Whenever I choose to lead a squad I always get the first batch cause I've got the first squad.

Gameplay > Graphics...
Although PR with BF:Bad Company Graphics would be a reason for me to get a NASA computer as fast as possible
This is how I play:

lol..I'm loaded. High on everything 8xAA, 16xAF, I get 70 FPS on average, with Fraps around 38-43.

Btw, BF:Bad Company wouldn't require a NASA computer at all. If you can play CoD4 on High with 30+ FPS. You're fine.
I'm playing Crysis with Ultra High graphics, except I have Textures set to High, and I get around 24-28 FPS on average.

I run everything to the max.
2.8 Quad core
MSI MoBo
4g ddr3 dual channel ram
9800 GTX+ 512ram
basic sound
dual 22" AOC LED
150G Raptor (10g RPM) HD
500g WD e-sata
Run with 100fps on all maps... 30 in the editor.

Gameplay>>>>graphics???
While i agree, i LOL at you for one simple reason...
90% view distance......Some times graphics make game play better...Whats it like being sniped by some one you can't see because of the fog????

I put all my settings high on the Battlefield 2 demo and I got more FPS

Shame it doesn't do it on Battlefield 2 or PR
Anyway. I have everything on low because I'm so hardcore! So I get about 24 FPS+

For a new comp I'm looking at Win XP, E7300, 2GB of RAM and an ATI HD 4850 512MB, anyone got a guess on the settings it will be able to handle?

Cheers guys, I'm tempted to go up to Vista, but would of course up the RAM to 4GB.
Sorry for the offtopic.

If I were you i'd stay with xp and up the ram to 4gb anyway to get the most - and yeah I know vista has dx10 but it's not that special. 4850 will be able to do max setting easy... My 8600gt can manage high settings (except aa) on quite a few maps.

From personal experience if your gonna stick with windows XP for a while dont spend the extra money on ram. Keep your system at 3gb should be fine. The likly hood that you XP system will ever address all 4gb is rare. Windows XP can only use 2gb per program. Take the extra dough and improve other part of your system.
