man i hope this NorthKorea faction idea doesn't loose momentum, a quick question: this North Korea idea is probably a better idea than the many blufor factions in the community modding things (not saying they aren't good but i mean the shortage of opfor forces (i love the work of the other com fac are doing)) and was wondering if the devs would make it?? i know they do a HEAP! of stuff already but mayby this might be something to put as a future project for them. I'm just saying.
anyway that's just my 2 cents worth and i ll probably get flamed to sh!t for it but hey.........someone had to ask.

Yeah... like a hundred fellows before you.
I would totally love this faction getting done but has it has been said a thousand times... If you want the Devs getting involved in this you need first a considerable amount of stuff already done or almost finished and all that suitable to PR standars. The only way you'll get there is if you assemble a team and start working on it. That's pretty much how most of the other factions got done.

The problem is that most of the MBTs and Tanks that NK uses are older, and probably not designed in PR. One example is the T-62, which looks somewhat like the T-72. The Ground forces also use up to the BTR-60s. They could also have jeeps manned with the NSV (A heavy machine gun). Support Gunners would have the RPK and the RPD. NK uses AK-74s (Officers, Special Forces), and AK-47s. NK could have scotus or recon with SKSs,. This could be taken from the Insurgents. The main Anti-Tank weapon is the RPG-7. NK uses Mil Mi-24 Attack helicopters and Mil Mi-8 Transport Helicopters. Their main attack aircraft are the MiG-29s. The main things we need modeling on for this is the Tanks, which are actually based off of old Soviet tanks, but have a different look.
Most of the maps would be based VS South kroea, Coalition, or Japan.
well i'm korean and can speak both language(north korea korean, south korea korean)
so i can help by voice problem!
P.s:are you guys going to make south korea to?

The Norks have a home-made version of the Kalashnikov rifles and the guy on the picture has an assault rifle/carbine that looks based on the AR-15 series. The Magazine looks like a STANAG anyway so it's not an AK as the soldiers of the DPRK would be using.
It's south koraen soldier with K2!Not a AR-15 series

Scenario like North Korea vs South Korea would be more than good.
I don't think that there is any game with that scenario (that I now XD ).
EDIT :
Little update from me,I found one game which have NK in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYmnX9qldtI

There is no point in making voices if the rest of your faction isn't ready yet.

But that would be a good step forward,
if he is really Korean he can also find much useful info on military forums
on Korean language, and help in developing of these two factions.

I don't see the point. Basicly what you're talking about is retexturing a bunch of existing Russian and PLA assets and then giving some soldiers Korean voices and textures. The North Koreans simply don't bring enough unique equipment to the field to be worth adding in my opinion.

Nah but it provides a new faction that could be good to rival any future potential RoK Army faction or a JSDF faction.
IMO too few Asian factions and too many European ones.

But they would be South Korean enemy,
and South Korea have great modern, unique Army,
and also gives one interesting and in reality very possible conflict (hope it will never happen in real life). Also good mappers would made probably very interesting maps.

Anyways, the North Korean army would make an unique faction, a very interesting one to play. But there's no way now it will become more than a thread or faction proposal... sadly!
Why so? Nearly everything that was proposed to begin with could be done easily now. As usual the only thing holding it back is the lack of maps.
