Thats because the =US= server is based on a buoy in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Good news, only about a week ago I said 'I wish there was a North American version of RT mumble'. And then bang! here it is. Thanks for organizing it.

How high of a ping can one play with without experiencing a worse playability?
If i understand it correctly a ping of 200 will make you lag behind 0,2 seconds in game.
I usually avoid servers in which i get over 100 ping but I have no idea wether a 100 ping is noticeably worse than a ping of 50-60...

Well i dont really find any extreme lag when playing at 120 imo, but i do feel it at 200.

Due to my slow connection my ping is ~ 150 ms from ze Germany, but it is still way faster than any other US server and it doesn't lag. Try it out!

If any North American players want help setting up mumble, then jump on the =US= Reality Teamwork server any evening this week, and join the "No Mumble" squad ( ask for team switch if the squad isn't on your team )
Im usually on at around 9pm EDT onwards.
The launch night will not be the time to be setting up and testing mumble.
The RT guide to mumble can be found here :
www.realityteamwork.com/mumble
The ingame help is for those people who are having problems after following the guide.

Hello all mumblers on *RR* Reality Teamwork PR v0.860 |EU|
What do you guys think about the new server?
Have you felt some changes like:
- Better performance
- Less lag
- Less crash
- Better ping?
We will install “Battle Recorder” so soon as possible, we just have to fix some thing else first, but we can promise that BR will be installed.
We will do what we can to make you guys “feel like home”. Well give us feed back tell us your ping, stories, gaming experience etc…
Remember that “smoking” is not allowed on our servers (the rule also applies while connecting to the server), that’s so all of our guests can have a good health. Smoking and gaming kills, but the effect will be doubled if you do both of them.
Have fun!
Regards,
*RR*

Awesome, it's good to hear you've found a server based in North America. I'll be busy on the launch night, but I'll be sure to join up some other time.
Congratulations!

Great round on Muttrah City earlier, unfortunately the server crashed on next map load (Op Archer).
Ping wise im getting about 50 which I guess is reasonable if it is located in Germany and it seems steady, didn't notice any server lag.

Thanks
The US server is already up and running, and we get a few on everynight.
I've got many new North American players to try mumble in the last week, and they tend to then come back every night, but there's a much smaller group of mumble users than in Europe, so its proving quite hard to fill the server.
We really want to encourage some of the smaller North American clans to make the Reality teamwork US server, their "home". It brings a bigger group of mumblers all at one time, plus it increases the quality of players and teamwork.
The sooner that the RT US server is successful, then the sooner we can put on the password, so that PR can be played like it should be
