It's not a patch, it's a full download, but yes, you'll be able to download v0.9 from other websites on Friday.

When you install 0.9, the exe will uninstall all traces of pr for you. Although, you can uninstall it earlier, that is what I did so I do not have to waste extra time waiting when I can play.
