Back then I could hover above 3 AAs and popp some flares or gunrun AAVs because the missle would either fly into the ground or torwards main base or I dont even know where.

we are talking about jet not attack helis, which still happens now days if you have noticed, helis can pre-flare and able to dodge it some how(not all the time) but jets have no chance, just look at the video i posted...
also i call that bullshit on your end for hovering above 3 AA and still being alive, cause if they at least fired 1 missile at a time(which no one will do that and spam the living shit out of it but i digress), one of them would have redirected... you mixing things up around this topic and have nothing productive to say other than mocking on other people who have tested the AA vs flare system many times.

Atleast was VERY fun to dogfight and the old Khami ALT for example, was the most balanced jets map. With gud pilots, those gud pilots would win on both teams. At that time (v1.3.9), the only problem about jet vs jet was missile spam, crashing when diving into lasers (another factor that was killing jets more than AA xD) and su27/su30/su34 that always dies by aa (something with flares if i am not wrong, deadman knows about those 3 jets).
We all play this game because ITS FUN TO PLAY. Not too vanilla and not too milsim. If we want something more milsim, we already got arma to play.
Life is simple, everything is simple, humans just like to complicate everything.

Revert everything about jet/aa/flares(from jets) until some one can work on it.
And it solves 50% of problems with planes and AA missiles.I put on F-16 in to the right place heat_object and have this video of with results.It means the rocket is nice to follow tail aircraft.
Well I think we can all agree that the old system worked a bit more reasonable for jets so why not revert to it and try working from there to make it more balanced?

IIRC shooting infront of the jet's path almost guaranteed a kill (friendly or enemy)

That's weird, i thought i double checked offsets on everything when moved engines.
Edit: indeed those are incorrect as they not part of engines, and been like that for ages(way before 2009 lol)

The next thing to be corrected in my opinion:
Armor(component) on most planes is put on "Airplane"-wrong.And then it has penetration of AA rockets 7.5 which is much larger than the helicopter which is 3 (PR_ARMOR_HELO_LIGHT)
And this is a probable reason why I could not do anything with adjusting head of the AA rocket damage.In the last video I used a AA rocket for testing with wary low exploding damage and plane explode.I wrote about it in "State of AA" theme.and maybe the reason Ehplosion_AA_blastwave...

Maybe it isn't such a hard ask to let the people deal with the technical stuff that already have build a huge knowledge base over the years and know the ins and outs of coding for this mod?

And what are you doing to contribute? Trying to take the moral high ground by helping even less than the flamers (they atleast point out a problem)?
Most people here actually have contributed, be it through testing or constructive feedback or simple suggestions on what could be tried.
Nevertheless this heat object missplacement does not even have to be the main problem. Even after it's fix problems could occure which would make AA too strong or too weak. I am glad that someone has the knowledge to test things out and is able to check out all the variables that matter.
