c7a2

m193, 55gr, bc=0.243, not 100% sure about muzzle velocity, i think it is 925m/sec

c9a2

m193, 55gr, bc=0.243, not sure about muzzle velocity, i think it would be the same as the c7a2 cus it fires the same ammo and has the same barrel.

i was just thinking about the damage for guns. should all the damage be based off the l86a2? i think we should think about what would be realistic and if it really comes to it what would be best for gameplay. if we make the 5.56mm do around 36 damage and the 7.62mm do around 50, i am sure most people using snipers will be like wtf, i hit him but he didnt go down. so i guess the real question i am asking is, should it really take 2 hits to kill someone with a 7.62mm round?

so the c7's bullet is slower then M16? I think the M16 is somthing like 3000fp/s so ruffly 1000m/s

no they are very close the m16a2 shoots at 930m/sec, about 3050 feet/sec

Hey, why doesn't PR have random damages? Like damage = crd-normal/36/20/0 in the projectile's code.

would it be possible to edit the collision model for soldiers. then we could have a outer shell, this would be a penitrable meterial. then some simple boxes inside the shell to simulate vital organs, could also have a tube to simulate the spine. this would allow for more realitic game play. would also be cool to see a bullet pass right through some guy.

the way i understand this from the modders, that this could be done but they would need totally new models instead of the Dice ones to customize the hitboxes (plus it would be a lot of work and i don't know if the hitboxes could cause lag)

yha me and mosquill were talking about this, my argument was, we wouldnt be adding much too it. we would add a few boxes, max 10. we also talked about making real body armour, using materials that would stop some bullets depending on their material, it could also add deviation and alot of other things to the projectile as it goes through a material.

Wow, that still sounds like some big changes. I'm just hoping the ballistics make it into .8, any chances of that happening or are their development still to far out?

right now me and mosquill are getting the info for all the guns and checking if they are good, if you would like to help get on xfire and i will start a chat room and we can try to finish this today. right now i have got about 40% done.

It does not have to be 100% correct Mosquill, just close enough. The addition of real ballistics is a big enough change to allow them to be perfected over a few releases.
Nothing happend to me. I'm here :)
The ballistics should be done before next monday.

could someone look for some kind of converter so we can convert the g1 bc into g5. this would help a great deal.

ok so we almost have all the guns

we need the bc, bullet weight, bullet speed for each gun, these are the guns we need for the main factions.

I tried that with "ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionDamage CRD_UNIFORM/49/100/0". What happened was the grenade would go off but no damage would be dealt. I imagine that this was a foreign command to the engine so it just ignored it, hence the zero damage. Also, a very good website on continuous random distributions in BF is: MDT - CRD Argument Type

here is what me and mosquill have come up with, if you find something that is diffrent then what we have, please make a post and have a link that shows that are values might be wrong, please dont link to wikipedia. if you can find extra info or info that we got wrong it would help to point it out.

guns with a long string of ---------- next to it means it is not done.

Looks like this data is incorrect.

Small update:
Mosin Nagant(M91 Russian): 7N1, BC=0.43, v=833±5, m=9.8g

right now the mec uses a m80 ball round for the hk21e and the g3a3. ok thx mosquill, i have updated the table. ok so this is how it currently works for mec. their 5.56mm weapons shoot the m855 ball, their 7.62 guns fire the m80 ball round, now we could use the m59 ball for the mec 7.62 weapons and the m193 for the mec 5.56mm weapons. so the decision is up to you guys.

edit:looking at the canadian guns, isnt someone modeling the c14 sniper? so should we find the bullets for the c3a1 or the c14?
