Actually Delta Force and Capitol SWAT team are the only unit that are issued the HK416 in the United States.

However, rumors has been flying around that Special Forces including Army Rangers will be issued the SCAR instead.

Rumors? From what I've heard, SOCOM has already purchased some and it's already given out in limited amounts.

offcause, it is a G3 with HK79, or how HK calls it a G3-TGS / Tactical Group Support and the well known scope.

So, how long until we have to replace all the M203 models with M320? Seeing as this is supposed to be set in the near future already.

As of right now,the "U.S. SOCOM Navy SEALS" are the only ones using SCAR's...

DMR for the MEC will actually be the G3SG1.

As a fan of battle rifles, I can't say I agree with this viewpoint. I like my guns to have enough punch to put someone down with the first shot, or else you run the risk of getting into a prolonged firefight.
Plus... once you replace the G3, suddenly every faction is using 5.56 weapons as their issued rifles, and that sounds boring as hell. As long as we have a fictional faction, can't we use it to provide some variety?

actually Paperchase you did get me wrong, i did not say that the HK33 would not have some advantages, but the G3 was the DEVs decision and they will keep it.
Aditional i must say, that i am also a fan of the battlerifles and of the varity they bring in the game. But i would welcome it when at least one class of the MEC would get a HK33 but it should not replace the G3, as well as i would also like it, when in the US Forces one class could get a M-14 with eotech or ironsights since they are also again used by some soldiers in other roles than as DMR

Well, additionally, why is everyone saying HK33?
The G3 makes sense because it was exported like crazy before the AK-47 became popular, and is the main rifle of Iran, so it would be a historically accurate choice.
But why the HK33? It's not even used by any mid-eastern countries, unless you count Turkey.

for one simple reason, to claim down all replace the G3 shouts and to give all that can not use the G3 a alternative
