I joined around 3am GMT and there was little overall teamwork and almost no mumblers. Not really good for a launch night.

Were you on the same server? We had nearly 50 North American mumblers on at one point, and the teamwork was far better than what you find on the majority of servers.

The EU server took a couple of weeks to settle down, and to get everyone used to using mumble, so hopefully the same will happen with the US server. I think at least 30 new people downloaded it tonight alone.

If you enjoyed the server, then please join our forum to become a member of the community:

www.realityteamwork.com

we also have a rapidly growing x-fire group which is useful for contacting admins, and getting a space on the server:

Reality Teamwork X-Fire group

Personally I thought the launch was a great success, so thank you to everyone who turned up

Maybe I was on the wrong team, but that round of fallujah was awful. Almost no mumblers, no real coordination and lots of civi killers (even with sniper rifles!). I do not remember that happen on the European RT server, not to that extend, even in the first days. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I really didn't expect so many tards there, sorry. Had a great squad on Muttrah though and heard you talk when in that BTR trying to shred us to pieces.

The Muttrah round was great.

The Fwest round blew. The ins team just rolled over and died. By the time I was growing frustrated enough to leave, it was just the blufor playing. Opfor might as well been bots...they were just going through the motions waiting for the next map.

I agree the Muttrah round was great. The Fallujah round was forgettable. I say good start for the server overall. Keep spreading the word.

Indeed, the INS gameplay is very fun.

Except with this level of coordination. The blufor gives the INS no room to wiggle. Even when we had a good locations. We just got steam rolled. The INS needs the enemy to leave ways open for them to take advantage.

Koreagel Valley would be good I think. Because it's a very challenging map for blufor.

Other maps like Fwest, Ramiel, and Al Basra play more on the the major weakness of Blufor. They loose sight of objective. Get cut down, loose assets in stupid ways.

I was there for about 20/30 minutes, but then I left to go to bed. 4 hours of waiting in the hospital isn't too nice :|

Let's try to play some more conventional maps instead of insurgency, it's all I see on servers any more. It's nice once in a while, but having one round off then one round on not only gets repetitive, it leaves the same people on BLUFOR and OPFOR, leading to even more frustration and boredom.
agreed!! The muttrah round was the first round i played in a month of no PR, it was probably one of my best game with non clan people EVER!!! I lead the squad on the winning US team  AAS maps are really good with mumble!

INS woulld be ok maybe after every 4th or 5th round

I think we should just scrap insurgency, and stick with conventional maps. Since .86 every insurgency round I've played has been utter ****. And mumble doesn't help. The muttrah round was really fun though..

This seems a bit much, I could understand a warning or a kick, but not a permanent ban? I understand these guys own the server but I didn't mean to cause any offence it was only a joke.
Appeal for bans on the website (RT Front Page 2.0), and the instance will be reviewed. It's very hard to admin servers properly, especially when just starting them up on their first days, so that might have come into question.

The instance wil and can be reviewed if you post about it on the website's forums, but otherwise nothing will happen here.

Insurgency can be great fun with mumble, especially when you have taunting civis, but I hear what you guys are saying, so Insurgency maps will not be in the rotation until the server is more established. ;)

I was quite disappointed.

Don't get me wrong -- I fully support open-source non-commercial development projects -- but I feel the whole "use Mumble or be kicked" was more of a shallow marketing strategy to force players to use yet another VOIP program (Vent and TS aren't good enough)? I don't like when a server tries to force me to download something just to play on it. After I noticed people getting kicked for not being on Mumble -- including my friend -- I've decided to blacklist RT servers. Not all of us are able to run background programs.

Good luck with Mumble, but IMHO it's fairly poor of you to force people to use it. Also, someone else in our squad last night on your server pointed something out -- Mumble is kind of a poor choice when coming up with a name for a VOIP program. :)

Mumble isn't 100% necessary, but mumblers will be prioritized over non-users, and non-users will be kicked if there is a list of people waiting.

Mumble is a much better VoiP tool than TS or VEnt in numerous ways, and, though it's still Beta, it's use has easily improved all communications and teamwork in the server.
