I don't see it being re-released. Sorry.FRENCH_FRIES wrote:Does any dev think that Sunset City could see a re-release back into the map pool? I loved it for the spectacular infantry combat, and with 1.0's deviation I could really see it becoming re emerging as a great map.

Just curious but any reason why? I know it was small and just a city but I'd like to know the technical reasons, if there are any.[R-DEV]AFsoccer wrote:I don't see it being re-released. Sorry.

The map was designed with the vision of being the "Chinese Karkand", not excatly the best design template for a PR mapFRENCH_FRIES wrote:Just curious but any reason why? I know it was small and just a city but I'd like to know the technical reasons, if there are any.

Dear Devs,
is it planned to implement a "radio distortion sound" (don't how it's called correctly) in mumble (Squadradio only), like in acre?
This would create a huge immersion.

Ah man, I can see the connection, but that little city had a lot of heart. Oh well, RIP in peace Sunset City. Thanks for the response.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:The map was designed with the vision of being the "Chinese Karkand", not excatly the best design template for a PR map![]()

Why was MEC removed as the OPFOR on Black Gold?

Re: Ask the [Dev]s a (?)
It might have been the case during the old Beta test of the map. But when BG was released (in December 2011), it was already PLA vs RUS.

Re: Ask the [Dev]s a (?)
Balance isn't my main concern, other than possibly when your talking about it vs hovering or slow moving helicopters. My main concern with it is effectiveness, especially vs fast moving jets, when you've also got to counter the effects of server-side lag etc.Kerryburgerking wrote:Is a balanced SACLOS AA possible in PR?
At some point in the future with the possible introduction of the Blowpipe, Tigercat and Rapier missile systems (which are all some type or another of CLOS) into PR:F (/possibly normal PR too) I do plan on looking into seeing if we can make this system work effectively (and also not overly effective either if that is a problem) and if it can be then PR:F may well become a public test bed for this and if its successful the other view weapons in PR that are CLOS (like the Stormer HVM) will possibly get it too
But we won't really know what its really like until we try, all we really have to go off right now is firing "TOW" and guided "H-AT" missiles at choppers which is done on occasion and only really seems to be successful when they are hovering or moving very slowly, with the typical victim to this being the Cobra on Muttrah

If DICE gave you guys the open source engine for BF2, would you guys continue working on PR through BF2 or just go all out Cry Engine 3?

We are going to be continuing to work on PR:BF2 for some time yet, with or without the source code as we've said many times before....Cameratoss wrote:If DICE gave you guys the open source engine for BF2, would you guys continue working on PR through BF2 or just go all out Cry Engine 3?
