Death! wrote:I got a serious admin abuse minutes ago, I was about filling a complaint on the FCV forums but it is yet too messy and it lacks a proper area for that.

We were playing on Wandashan and there was an inefficient commander on the Chinese team, he was messing around on the field and people were complaining that he was not on the UAV. He then got resigned by the admins and I left my squad to be a commander after it; I applied, got accepted by the game and then started to walk towards the base to reach the UAV station. After ONE MINUTE AND A HALF that I was walking trying to find a vehicle to get back to base, an admin called teK resigned me. I asked why he did that, he said that I was not on the main base and I then explained that I've just joined the command (he freaking knew that!). 30 seconds later after resigning me, he applied to be a commander himself.

I told him that it was bullshit and abuse, plus I'd tell Brennan about this bad admin behavior -- he kicked me from the command post because he wanted to be a commander himself. He replyed "if you want to report me, then get actual shit to do that". I said I would not discuss it ingame and I would go on forums (all the "discussion" took only 3 lines) after this he KICKED ME from the server.

Despite problems with ]CIA[ Brennan had, we were always cool with each other and he even issued me a reserved slot a while ago, so nothing against him or the server itself. I think he just needs to look better for his admins.
This admin has been particularly problematic recently, this was one of his last chances to redeem himself. We are taking care of this now, and will likely remove his admin entirely (or at least bring him back to trial, and severely restrict his powers) but rest assured he will be dealth with. Thank you for this report.

Thank-you very much for dealing with him. Myself and a friend were having terrible problems with him. As I mentioned earlier, an admin had told us that we were allowed to solo vehicles and that's who the admin was. I didn't want to name names earlier, but I'm happy things got sorted out!

This isn't really the place but honestly I soooooo badly wish that people would stop confusing the commander position with the 'UAV godmode ***** for the team'. Of course it's a big assumption, but if he was actually commanding, there may have been pertinent things to do like run supplies somewhere or repairs out to damaged vehicles. As commander I generally don't spend the whole round in the command post either, and I am so dismayed (and express it quite vulgarly) when people think they have the right to tell me how to play as commander, especially when they just sat at main base for twenty minutes, salivating over their whore-able asset for which they made the squad first (*yay*). :?

I would not return to a server who's admins thought they could dictate how I play the game [outside the pre-defined rules]. I think CAS squads or tank squads would be equally pissed if they were playing the game in a way that the admin disagreed with (like hunting other tanks/CAS first before supporting troops on the ground, for example). If you want commanders to only be in the UAV, that should be a server rule.

That was the point ;)

Yeah sorry, as I said, the FCV thread isn't really the place for that post because it's not directed at you guys, I've had nothing but good times on the server, but I was more referring to the pervasive view [mentioned above] that players seem to have these days. But starting a new thread on the matter would be pretty fruitless, I apologize for the derail :(

Feel free to buy a diary and write in there or register on our forums!

Haha just messing around but if there's anything OT the general forums would be the best place.

I've been playing this game for years and I kid you not, this week I learned that commanders can set special rally points. Thats how little I knew about how commanding works.

Your made of money aren't you... :P

But I had a blast on Scenario Sundays today!

I played for 1/2 of the Wanda Shan Extract...

Played the full Dragon Fly Convoy. Which was funny as hell, since the VIP was killed by his own tank. XD

Then the FOB defense was odd.

Then the infamous VW on BG=LOVE.

Keep it up guys.... looooooooving it more than my GF.

I work hard for the money, hopefully with the other games we are starting to run the server pays for itself soon. Donations have been rolling in and it's been fantastic.

And regarding the event feedback, thanks dude, your input on the event might be beneficial to our event planners on the forums. And if you want to maybe get a map in there for the next SS then you definitely should ;)
