Are you planning on coding all that? No? So you shouldn't expect anything.

The minimod is done, it won't get that many new features or gamemodes as we don't have the manpower to work on it, as stated in my previous post! If anything, we'll work on keeping it up to date with the latest PR release and fixing a few bugs so that it can still be played.

Motivation to work on it is close to none specially since "everyone" wants to play but no-one wants to help. So I won't say that it will be back soon as that is unrealistic.

It will be available whenever it is available and with whatever features we got to work.

I will try to work on it a bit after the next PR release if I get the motivation to do so.

Thanks for the quick answer Onil you are a legend man!

I am a modder myself but only did COD mods and my latest proyect was a huge moba client that basically had all the champions from all mobas.

My point is... maybe I can help.

I was thinking... first... that all your work should not go to waste. I mean just look at some COD titles... their zombies maps are more popular than the regular ones.

About the mode.

I think there is very little that is not already coded.

To make it easier: Zombies spawn on invisible flags at urban centers on the map (simulating the population turning into zombies).

If flags are captured by players then zombies don't spawn there anymore. There is an uncapable flag that spawns zombies even if the players took all the flags.

When players capture all the flags the zombies start bleeding tickets until the humans win or they manage to retake the flag/s and stop the bleeding. Whoever runs out of tickets looses the match.

And then all the mechanics already in your mod take place like players turning into zombies etc.

The only thing that makes no sence to me is having to request an admin to pick up weapons, just have them randomly spawn on the map specially on urban centers and that's it.

Allow listen servers too.

Boom... done... huge success.

PS: I think it is better to remove features rather than add new ones at this point. If there is something making the mod unstable o imposible to be hosted just remove that. Simple is better than nothing.

Lets see if I understood you correctly.

Based on your posts, either you have never played PR:Z or at least do not recall how it works. You suggested a few things that are already in, you suggested a few things that aren't possible in BF2 engine, you suggested a few things that go against the PR:Z concept itself or are at least completely different than what we aimed for.

There is no new feature breaking the mod, every time PR is released a few things might be broken and need fixing.

We have plenty of planned features and game-modes that will most certainly never make it in but some would also not be that hard to implement. We simply lack the man-power to do it... and at this stage we don't care that much. The current version is still fun to play and we can continue organizing Survival Games and the odd PR:Z event.

The weapon spawner is and will continue to be admin activated as the minimod is not meant to be played outside of events. Anything else would still require good server administration and there is no man-power for that.

We don't search for success, we made this to have fun in it. Hopefully we will continue to do so in the future.

Hey Onil.

Yeap I have never played but I've seen all the videos on it.

I saw that:

If you die you are taken to the zombie team depending on certain conditions.
There are invisible flags on the map.
Players are divided in several teams to also promote some PVP.
It looks fkng amazing
The atmosphere is on spot! (Spooky)
Gameplay is close to perfect... you feel the tention and exitement just like other high budget comertial tittles like DayZ.

And yes, I would love to help! But sadly I do not agree with limiting this only to events and only admin handled gun spawns and pickups... I don't think that is something sustainable in the future. (No one wants to baby sit while others get all the fun).

I believe the mod should admin itself and just have the players join, kill eachother, survive the zombies and try to complete whatever objective the map has being it scaping, capturing all flags, destroying something or whatever you set it to be.

Your mod has a super strong foundations bro... but for some reason you are keeping it very closed and not user friendly.

Why can't this just be like all the other mini mods like WW2 or Falklands or PR itself? You don't need admins or events for those...

I host my own PR server in LA and 20 of my friends play on it every weekend and I never had to admin it, I just set the modes, map cycle and run the server... thats it. Why does it has to be more complicated than that?

I believe that is because there is a feature in PR:Z that does not work without someone doing it manualy. If that is the case... just rework/redo/remove the feature.... totally guessing here but lets say there is no system in the mini mod for changing players to the zombie team if they were killed by a zombie so it has to be done manually? Then don't have them changing teams and the zombie team is always Ai and there... featured removed in the sake of making it more user friendly and not require someone administrating it.

Recently there were some zombie mods released on MODDB and they are pretty nice and do not require someone babysiting the server... of course they will never be as good as a Mini mod for PR but mainly because PR maps and base features built over several years are just unbeatable so a vanilla foundation no matter how good will never be as good as your mini mod could be just because PR is behind it.

You have a very nice, unique gem here Onil... it is just too hard and complicated to obtain so it remains hidden under a sea of technicalities. Just take PR for example... they said they were never going stand alone and never release with mini mods included but now it is stand alone and version 4.0 will include mini mods. That is what I call an open mind.

The whole minimod was developed to organize Survival Game Events. The PR:Z features came after and were never the main objective.

Everything in the minimod is automatic and does not require an admin, except for typing a command on round start to initiate the weapon spawner script, Once that command has been typed, the admin can actually play the game as everyone else. We could even make it run without needing to type the command but we would have to set it to initiate when a minimum amount of players had joined the server and for now since it is event based, there is no need for it.

PR:Z could be hosted as a public server eventually but it will continue to be organized only by its developers along with its sponsors. It is not meant to be a regular game, it is meant to be a fun game that you play from time to time when you're getting tired of the main PR game-play and want something different. That is why we organize events from time to time with our own player-base that feels the same way.

I appreciate the compliments about the minimod but I would still say that you should refrain from suggesting things until you actually play it.

Since we're attempting to update PR:Z to work with the current PR version and possibly mod another map for it, we will eventually organize both closed and open betas.

If any of the players of the PR:Z Open Beta Week are still around and checking this thread, please post here reminding me that you participated in it. Since I was the only admin there every single night I will recognize the nicknames that were there more than once. And perhaps you can get an invitation to the private events ;)

Hey Onil, I don't remember when I played PR:Z but it may have been during open beta. I loved the game, would love to try it again when it's ready

I was in the open beta in winter 2014 and I think I was on in most days.
Lamarr1401 recorded video of PR-Z open beta match and uploaded it to Youtube, where I was in too, in his squad in the video.

I'm planning to host a SGE on the 13th or 14th of December. Like the past 2 or 3 SGE's, this one will also be organized for the PRT Community even though there will be some slots reserved for the PR:Z Open Beta participants that post on this thread.

We've been playing every night from around 19h30 onwards.

I only streamed the first night for about 4 hours but since no-one checked it out, I haven't streamed since.

If you want to participate on watch the stream, join the PRT TS and ask me. I don't mind streaming as long as there is someone watching.
