this is brilliant :
enemy SL speaking to random blue on my team : "oi you turn around"
me to enemy SL from above him: "oi you saying oi you, turn around"
then i shot him...
or walking behind chechen as russian and saying:
"yeah i love being chechen, whats our secret plan again ?"
and ofc the teamwork of walking up to APC and saying "enemy 75" or a friendly SL ect

Jeez, can we maybe make two different threads?
One dedicated to technical stuff about Mumble and another one for posting your experiences with Mumble?
Maybe a Mod could divide all the posts from this thread into two new ones?

I need some help atm. With the latest release the positioning isn't working at all. I can hear people talking from all over the map. I've set it up just like it says in the guide, I've tripple checked it and it still sounds like team speak with people talking all at once

Sry, our techi guy didnt show up yet, and I didnt know how he did it.
Basically a bridge between the forum and mumble mysql database I think, but still have errors there and need some fixes
Garack wrote:Why are so less Clans using mubmle on off. PR servers , 10 th com. is listen up but i cant finde there channel?
Since we are testing mumble a bit longer than the official PR Mumble Server exist, we would split up our community if we had a additional channel there, also we thought of replacing our TS for Mumble, then beside the positional audio its so much better.
but i suggest it would be better if we would be all on one server,
lets see how the mighty devs get it integrated to pr
our mumble server is mumble://10th-community.com:64738 and we have the same setup like the official

I had the same problem, solved it by changing the device in audio input and audio output from "default directsound voice..." to (my soundcard) "SB XFi-Audio". Works for me.

Yeh, hence why you enable the overlay so you can see who is talking

TECH poblem: BF2 Voip is so silent that i cant hear people anymore. all is 100% in BF2 and PR settings. i only hear them very silent since i installed mumble and set it up as recommended.
BIG Problem is that Mumble killed my BF2 voip. I can hear very very silent, bo matter what to do..i Dont start mumble anymore but BF2 Voip is silent...all sliders are at 100%---
What can i do?
Vista32 and Xfi gamer Soundcard..

For some reason mumble does not save my settings. It resets them every time the program is opened.

I had a similar problem after installing mumble, is it all of bf2 sound or only the bf2 voip sound?

Garack, set your effects volume in BF2 to 50%, everything else maxed out, otherwise it's quite possible you have a hard time hearing the ingame voipage. Hope this helps.
It's just the way BF2 is. Mumble didn't change that for me, I've always had that (as many others). But try it out.

By the way, how many players experience punkbuster troubles when using Mumble Overlay? I haven't used it in live servers, but may want to give it a go.

I had the VOIP problem when I first installed mumble but after I restarted my computer VOIP worked fine.
I also used the overlay on the TCombat server with out any problems.

I used Overlay once, then said I was using it and Jaymz said to take it off, haven't used it since, but it does help a lot.

The only problem in mumble right now, I think, is that when you use the "force center position", everybody on the channel (including enemies) will hear you. It would be like those dumbasses (joke) that use the global chat to give enemy position or team oriented details.
I like hearing enemies but I think that having 1 separate channel for each team would be better (keeping the squad leader channel, which is awesome and is the “radio channel”) That way, the only reason to use the bf2 VOIP would be to speak to squadmates who are not on mumble or far on the map and to the commander. No need for ts or vent anymore.
A good trick that I read somewhere on the forums is to set your bf2 voip push to talk button to the Mumble shortcut "push to mute". That way, when you use the bf2 voip, mumble is muted and people on your squad won't hear duplicate coms.
