It's not a mp5; it does not even have a handguard.

In return; it needs higher damage.

My reference was to the MP5 we have ingame for MEC faction with very manageable recoil vs ppsh.

I'll admit, I'm definitely not a gun expert but from these videos it seems that the PPSH is much more controllable. Like Riflewizards said, a mag-dump is ineffective in PR (even though the shooters in these videos are able to keep the gun on target with no problem). Also, in terms of in-game balance, the PPSH has low damage and little stopping power so it should at least have effective full-auto fire at close range. When playing as militia or the Vietcong I see little reason to take it even over the AK-47.

Have you noticed the stock?

It's like a traditional rifle stock; the recoil isn't inline with your shoulder.
That means the recoil will naturally have higher tendency to drive muzzle upwards.

In-game mp5 does not have that problem, obviously. In-game Mp5 has negligible recoil while ppsh has fairly noticeable recoil; that is fine as long as the deviation isn't terrible.

What the PPSh is meant for, doesn't really need accuracy and recoil isn't too big a problem. It's an SMG, with a moderate muzzle velocity and longer effective range than a pistol (but much smaller than any worthy rifle). Maybe someone on the forums has a lot of extra money and could go on GunBroker and buy one? There's also a lot of ranges in the US where you can rent stuff like that, it would be a great way to settle debates and get some useful data.

So you guys don't think it's overdone in PR compared to how steadily the shooters in the videos can hold the gun on full-auto? If no one shares my opinion I'll just drop the issue.
