Some of the tankers were using AK's when they had to do foot patrols through narrow alleys and streets. Mostly due to them not being issued rifles for the entire crew and just about any rifle is better than an M9.

I wonder, since BF2 is said to have a rank based system, that when you increase your rank, your proficiency with enemy weapons, and maybe yours, increases? Would be a cool addition, but it wouldn't be fun being a n00b.

i don't think the rank increase stuff should be very important because if you like make your rifle more accurate or something when your rank increases because you would have those who bought the game as soon as it was out having a big advantage over ne n00bs, who would be killed over and over again and never increase in ranks.

I'd like to see that your aim starts to swerve (wrong word?) from side to side when you have been aiming in the ironsights for a while.

It'd depend a lot on how u were positioned, if u were standing your arms can start to become tired fairly quickly, depending on the weapon, crouching, takes a little longer again, as your centre of gravity is lower, and so u are more stable, and when prone, it'd take quite a while for your arms to get tired, and of course there's the fact to remember that the guys holding these weapons are professionals, and the SF and sniper exspecially would probably take quite a while for their arms to become tired.

So a feature like that is going to need to take into account;

1) Weapon's weight
2) Player's position
3) Class's expected training/experience

Not saying Im against the idea, just expanding details  , one more to the list of things that would add that bit more realism.

Yes, this is true. It just hit me one day when I was holding a AK5 and aiming at a man sized target which was 300 meters distant that soon you will start having problems aiming at the target.

Hi every1, i'm new here and i heared about this mod trough totalbf2.com

Interresting mod, i dont have the time to check all posts, so maybe some of theise suggestions have allready been made.

1 jamming guns, if it overheats or gets dirty, it jams, and a mechenic or engeneer can fix it for you, or you can throw it away and take an enimies or teammates gun

2 grenades have bigger range than those in desert combat and bf1942 since normal frag nades have metal splinters in em.

3 realistic helicopter handeling.

4 maybe its not possible with the bf2 engine, but something like if you get shot in the leg you cant run anymore, if you get shot in the arm you cant aim verry well anymore and stuff like that.

5 no parachuites that can open at 30 ft (10 meters) high and still land safely.

6 ejecting seats for jets so u can jump out at low altitude.

thats about it for what i can think of atm.

Are you gonna make realistic damage models? Because then the AK 74 should be 1 shot one kill weapon with its tumbling and all.

Soldiers are taught how to fix a weapon jam themselves, they don't need a engineer to do it for them.

Other then that, they are all good ideas, most of which we've discussed before, though I'm not sure if we've talked about grenade damage?? I'm sure the Devs will make it as realistic as possible though.

We've tlked about that sought of thing before, and as above, the Devs have said they want to make this mod as realistic as possible.

Head, chest, tummy, tighs. Pretty much everywhere,

tighs?? u mean thighs right?? n I can't see a shot to a thigh killing, not from the impact anyway, the wound bleeding out yeh maybe, but only chest/head is going to kill with one hit, and a chest shot won't always kill in one hit anyway, the only sure way to kill in one hit is for the head, a chest shot can simply puncture a lung, n a guy will survive that as long as he gets proper aid relatively quickly (I'm a senior first aider, n I'm trained to treat ppl with punctured lungs, causes of which of cors include gunshot). A shot to the heart, sure, one shot, or if the guy gets lucky and manages to hit his target's spine, maybe, although could quite possibly simply turn the victim paraplegic. I believe most SF kill shooting is taught as "2 to the chest, 1 to the head", correct??

One shot kill to the stomach? I think the people who died from being gutshot might probably have preferred that.

About that, will you even be able to recover from that type of wound or will you guys make it so you have to take the injured person to a "field hospital" or something like that?

Getting tagged in the thigh (depending on the entry point and the size of the round) would probably leave an exit wound that would tear the femoral artery, causing potentially fatal amounts of blood-loss.

Like I said, being shot at any of those locations on the human body would kill you, if you were shot by an AK74. The 5.45 bullet has a hollow tip, back balanced bullet that will tear you up. And please, we aint firing spikes here. Punctured lung? Think of it more like a rag that 3 vicious dogs have been fighting over.

I'm pretty sure that ALL soldiers learn to shoot for centre of mass.

Some of those non standard issue Le Mas 5.56mm rounds can produce some fairly gruesome wounds as well. Read a story about an ex-SEAL PMC in Iraq who managed to shoot a retreating insurgent in the ***. Surprisingly it was instantly fatal unlike a typical round. I highly doubt blended metal will end up in use in the regular military though.
