Setting up any kind of standard rule set for all servers just wont work... sorry.

And the reason for this is very obvious. there is no "PR community" this is just wishful thinking.
The truth is that the "PR community" is indeed very fractious. Just read the posts on this forum. "server A is bad while server B is great" or clan A do this while clan B are perfect"

Or how about "maps A,B and C are rubbish, while map D is the best"

The point is, far too much energy and time is wasted on trying to show how how something is better than something else. This imo is very divisive and goes against what the word "community" means to me.

I'm not talking about differing opinions, I'm talking about a young man's need to assert himself by trying to appear superior to his peers. It's human nature, I understand this but I think that many don't, including the people that do it. ( don't worry this will come to you when you grow up)



Now I understand that I probably sound extremely patronising, but take it from an old man, I've seen it happen more times than I care to mention, and the best way to create a community, and make no mistake it takes work not just using a term you think suits best, is to stop arguing over and over about the same minutiae and to keep it simple to start with.
Find out what you agree on and not fixate on what you disagree on and work from there. I have run successful businesses in the past so I think I know what I'm talking about, although no doubt this post will attract lots of mature replies telling me where to go.

Agree with you on most things. The PR community is way too shattered and far away from a rule standard set thorugh-out PR. But IMO adding a feedback section were users can throw down all major complaints regarding server administration wouldn't be bad.

We do have the "Server-feedback" section but as it is now noone can get a clear overview.

I think such a thing would be hard to enforce, but I hope the DEV recognise that admins on some servers are abusing their powers. I myself witnessed an incident on the 128-player server
where a player was tempbanend for fossing a friendly fob. It quickly turned out that the admin was a bit too triggerhappy in banning, since the other team quickly admitted that it was they who fossed the fob and the friendly merely was close. However, since the player got (rightfully) pissed and sweared at the admin, his temp ban was turned permanent.

Since it's unique position, admins of the 128 player server should behave decently and not expect players to behave 100% of the time when they themselves make mistakes that cause player misbehaviour. I believe that R-DEV Matrox was there at the time and he mentioned something about making a post about that incident and I bloody hope he did.

Take it to the 128 player server feed back this is *NwA* or create a new thread.

The person who was temporary banned from the 128 server was zahj i think. And he was unbanned 10 min later, after the admin had spoken to some people about it.

As for admin abuse. This is something we as a community must discuss. But on what terms and where is another story.

If a Moderator can start a thread, with set out rules. We can more easily discuss this matter. As it is very very required for PR and its members to continue to grow and our community to remain strong.

Again this has nothing to do with *NwA* feedback.

As the rules of this forum section state. If you have issue with a server or there rules take it to there web site. This forum isnt for moaning and a slanging match.

kingy the PR DEVs could employ someone from one of PRs many servers who is an admin or retired admin to run the situation and we could have a sub section in the server feedback section which is set-out a lot like the bug reporting area.

A system of if say 25 legitment complaints were reached the server would be taken down for a month or similar depending etc.
I'll think something up tomorrow, if the DEVs are interested i'll happily make one and PM it.

I Believe that was a mistake if you read the posts they have nothing to do with *NwA* server feed back, By your own server feed back posting rules, these post should not even be in this section of the PR forum. Let alone merged here by a forum DEV. These post are re:admin abuse in general and the state of the PR community.

We have been threatened before in earlier pages of this forum about discussions and rants and that people should take it to the servers forum.

One post I didn't quote as im sure its not the posters intention is advertising his own server and that he's a admin on it and every one should play there. wtf is that post doing on another servers feedback thread. It is disrespectful and if we all (server admins) stared to do that on each others feedback forum you would have a war on your hands.


*NwA* seams to be at the fait of a mistaken [DEV] who didn't read every post he moved or merged and I can accept that may be the case, having to deal with a large forum. The post you did move have no relevance being here. Admin abuse on the *NwA* server we will deal with ON OUR FORUM as the rules of the feedback forum state and not be subjected to every body else's general server gripes about the community of admins as a whole.

Then again its my opinion based on rules and past event relating to such infractions of such rules in this thread and other threads with in the feedback forum so as its a [DEV] thats done it i could be wrong.

Please can you clean up our server feedback thread so relevant feedback can be given and posters can be direct to our forum to discuss the matter at length if needed THERE as per the rules.

Just so everyone is clear, these rules are in force for both players and server admins. Admins, your only response should be a link to your website and a message to take it there. Anything beyond that will be subject to the same rules as players.

My current system is this:
1) Warning
2) Infraction
3) Perma-ban

Failure to heed these rules will result in your removal from the forum.

This hole thing stemmed from a debate on a guy being kicked and clamming he was abused by an admin. Just to clear up.

Please come to http://www.nwa-clan.com where we can discuss the matter and clear up what you thought was a unjust kick, there is 2 sides to every story.

Then if he did come to the forum I would of posted a link to the disscusion so every one could come and read it and see why the admin kicked the guy and belive me *NwA* admin would of been in the right but they never do come, few do, just spout in public and in your forum. rules are there to stop that happening here, and so it should as this mess happens if you dont.

People told the thread starter he was posting in the wrong area which he was, and a few also offered suggestions on ways to help with what they considered admin abuse. The tittle of the thread was something with admin abuse in it. Which is why other servers are talked about. This is why your feedback section looks the way it does now.

The thread should have been closed with a note to the thread starter to post his feedback in the correct area and to the people who think that they have a valid suggestion to post it in the right area. Don't care if anything happens here, I just want the level of admin abuse to be recognised on the NwA server.

I was gunning an apache on Kashan, we get in the air and about 3 minutes after the apaches spawned...NwA admins start calling out lazer targets. I say no...because we are going to shoot down the Havoks first as is standard practice.

Many NwA members start trolling me, spelling out Close Air Support, you shoot ground stuff. Essentially they were trying to make me feel stupid so I would cave. But MasterG said to me, 'Hit target or leave chopper.' Given that these are the admins we were dealing with, they are essentially saying, 'hit my target or be kicked.'

So we line up for the target and drop altitude, then we get shot down by a havok above us.

I said, 'I told you so.'

And got temp banned

I agree with you, by quoting and commenting on posts that were in that thread that was moved I was only trying to highlight why the entire thread shouldn't of been moved here. As I say i have no issue in what people said in there post we all have a right to an opinion but the thread shouldn't of been moved to this server feedback thread due to its nature. posts contained with in this thread have to abide by the rules of this section of the forum and they dont.

I will and I suggest people dont comment any further and wait for the forum mods to sort this out as we are also by continuing this discussion breaking those rules also.

Havent played PR for 2 months and went to NWA early in the afternoon because you guys where filled up. You have improved a lot! Stories about this server are true Had one of my awesomest games since a while here (including the PR games I played before the 2 month drop out).

The map list is updated weekly. You may also notice our server dosnt crash as often as it used to. This is because we have done alot of research as to what map runs well with other maps (dead screen and crash mid game) and what game style. This is may be why some think we plat alot of Insugency maps. Now we are running 2 servers with 2 diffrent map list and varied map layers you will find a refreshing map list.

Something unusual happened yesterday at peak gaming time (18:00 PRT). Your AAS server died for some reason, people were disconnecting on Jabal and when the map switched to Kozelsk it died alltogether. Right now there's more people playing the mod hence the new release and when time goes by less people will be playing the game. You guys now have two different servers which are both populated at good times but most of the times only the 2nd server is up and running, almost everytime it's the insurgency one.

Are you planning to put in only the mixed one at some point in the future if both servers are not populated at proper gaming times? If this comes true can we have more AAS maps in the maplist aswell.
