And along with the ridiculous server message spam and trash talk by players its enough to ruin a game for me.
I still don't understand why people don't type their complaints and vote casts into their squad chat. I don't get it, are they doing it on purpose, so the whole server can see their choice, my god....

I figured they are too stupid to recognize even the smallest feature, or simply ask for it, or even listen when someone is telling them how it works.

This thread makes me depressive, seeing how obstructed a great part of the community is.

I can't speak for everyone but here are my reasons for not jumping on PR as often as I like to.

An annoying aspect that unfortunately keeps me away from the game is the lack of vocal communication on some servers. This is including servers who enforce Mumble, it seems as if everyone is either mumbling unintelligible words because they're shy and/or just plain anti-social. Either that or they don't know how to use Mumble correctly, but even those who do don't properly relay information to the team and thus teamwork is often disjointed - ultimately breaking the enjoying foundation of this mod.

Yet another annoying aspect is when clans get in pubs, create an Infantry squad and lock it with three or four people. When multiple clans get in the same team it is even worst because you can have two-three non asset squads locked to barely a handful of players amongst them all. Leaving even more less moderately skilled or inexperienced players to create squads and again... teamwork ends up becoming defunct entirely.

Now this is in no way my proclamation as to why there is a decline in player activity as a whole but I'm pretty sure the two aspects I briefly touched on potentially strike close to home with some other players out there - experienced and new players alike. Its these things that keep me from playing PR, even though I would absolutely love to play everyday. Ironically, I just got out of another server because of the same issues I bought up here. It is disheartening and bogs the game down to absolute boredom and frustration, resulting in myself playing less and less.

I think the fact of the matter is, PR has reached the end of it's journey (for now). As others have said "elitism" and it does play a part. You cant jump onto any server anymore and expect to communicate and play as a team like you used to. You have to have mumble, be friends with the admins and then you can play how the server "wants" you to play.

OLD PR; Hey I'm new can you teach me? Sure thing man what do you want to learn?
NEW PR; Hey I'm new can you teach me? Get mumble, read the rules, dont do anything stupid!

Dude again the mumble bitching..... when people are told to install it, install it and run it. And just have guts to say that you are new and don't ruin by going straight for the sniper. And the last sentence at the new PR should be common sence but with the increase of trollers and tarts it is needed.

This thread has served it's purpose, no we won't get the same numbers like before, no we won't get the quality from before anymore.

But right now it's holidays, and even this monday we had 500 players (EU time). So stop posting here and go play PR.

Makes it harder to get the will built up just to play these days.

The only reason why I stop playing PR is when I consistently lose rounds by a massive margin, or I get kicked for losing key packets.

OMG this so innovative thread reached thirtysixsomething pages!!
The forum is in decline, i check em once month and there's nothing new..

Imo only PR:BF3 can bring PR back to it's former glory.

For the sake of our sanity, I'll finally lock this thread. There's plenty of ways to help and contribute if you wish to increase the amount of players in PR - you can take a look at the community modding section to add new content, you can do some PR work for PR, you can start up servers like some people are planning to do - but this thread isn't helping at all.

Do something, start projects, bring life back to the mod if you want it to live.
