Both sides are fun .... it depends upon what you are in the mood for at the moment . . . i still think that the insergency game mode needs some more tweaking though

BLUFOR, this is because I very rarely find good insurgent squad, otherwise it doesn't really matter that much. Both sides offer fun moments, but the most important thing is having a good squad.

Although I voted for Bluefor, Because I mostly fly transport chopper and attack choppers, but sometime on small infantry maps, I would like the insurgents because their guns own in close quarters...

It's got to be Insurgents. There's nothing more satisfying about having a disadvantage and then getting a kill.

Generally I prefer BLUFOR because I do not like to sit around and wait for something to happen. Id rather move in with a well organized squad.

However, most of the time I am not getting lucky with the server's choice of my team so I developed an affection for the sapper kit! At the end of my funniest Insurgency round my IEDs blasted a whole squad into the skies and I was going nuts...

Insurgents, theres nothing like hunting down which road is in most use in that round and lining it with IED Arty shells

I notice most people voted BLUFOR and I'm betting these are the ones that after losing there kits came on here and started to whine about Insurgents using there kits against them

Insurgents is great also with Mumble and all SL's on it.

I always go Insurgents because as a player I can have a [percieved] larger effect on the battle. Usually through comms to other squads on Mumble (I HATE Ins without mumble, because effectively everyone is a lonewolf).

I said BluFor because people don't actually use teamwork that often on Insurgent teams

Voted for BLUFOR. I like it because usually there are more teamwork.

Personally, if I can't join a BLUFOR team, I wont play at all or will screw around as an insurgent. I cannot bring myself to shoot NATO troops as a terrorist, even though its just a game

Being in a good ambush squad or just setting up a successful ied ambush myself is the most fun i've ever had in PR, but at the same time coming over the wall into an insurgent compound and breaching doors hunting down terrorists and looking for the cache - also a great time. So it's really a toss-up for me.

For OPFOR naturally . . . because i hate BLUFOR =D

Bluefor, because when I play ins I usually end up waiting for a blue for team to stop team-killing or trying to all be sniper and not actually seeing any convoys or squads to ambush.

Fallujah - Insurgents (Love to run around or crawl in the grass hunting APC's)
Archer - Canadian (Sniper Team or APC Driver)
Basrah - Insurgents (RPG's or SPG-9 Technical / 50cal. Techn?cal)
Korengal - Insurgents (Ambushing US with AK's due to automatic rifles)
Ramiel - US (Recon squad)
Karbala - US (Stryker driver or OH-58 Kiwoa, the most fun part is when we play convoy tactic)
Lashkar Valley - German (Recon squad or Huey Pilot)

Otherwise generally any faction is very enjoyable as long there is teamwork and communication between the squads.

I'm very new to PR, but I've had great experiences on both sides in the little more than a week that I've been playing.

Two notable examples for INS:

Unfortunately, I do not know the map names very well yet, but the first match was on a US vs Iraqi map that features a largish town/city with a central mosque that has a large (8-9 story) building overlooking most of the middle of the map. I joined up with the insurgents and hopped onto a random squad.

There was only 1 guy in the squad with the Marksman SVD kit, and after indicating I was new, he immediately put me to work as a civvy spotter. Despite my connection trouble, we teamed up and he taught me how to use the grappling hook on the fly as we darted from rooftop to rooftop picking off squads heading for the cache in the area. By the time I had the grappling hook down, we moved to the large building at the center of the map and did a three part climb to reach the top, where we had an excellent overview of a hilly, open field around the mosque. We held off a massive attack from BLUFOR on the mosque cache with the SVD and a spotted mortar strike, and won the round just as multiple Strykers and BLUFOR squads had us pinned in the alley behind the building.

The second game was a Brit BLUFOR vs Iraqi insurgent map that also featured an incredibly tall grain-mill looking building that overlooked several major streets. I hopped into the game and spawned on a weapons cache, finding an unused PKM. I picked it up and joined a squad, quickly learning that they were staked out at the top of said grain mill with the sniper and commander kits. I joined them on the roof and we began to look for targets.

After a few minutes, I spotted a British soldier and reported the bearing to our sniper. A few seconds later, an APC follows up behind him and a whole squad piles up and stacks near the corner. Our SL called in an INS squad on the ground and they took positions behind some small storefront shacks to set the trap. Another Brit squad appears, moving through an alley a little farther out, but still in line with the first squad from our elevated vantage point of death. On the SL's command, we unleashed hell. Firing in short bursts at tiny specks I could barely distinguish, my PKM suppressed both squads while the sniper and ground squad went to work. 15 seconds later, the APC is burning and there are 7 dead British soldiers scattered across the open street. Easily the most gratifying squad action I've yet participated in.

Sadly, the four members of our squad were killed shortly thereafter by a pinpoint mortar strike on the roof of the building. Fair's fair, I suppose.

OPFOR for the weapons and BLUFOR for the pace of gameplay

I prefer to play BLUFOR. Personally, i just don't like sitting around the same 100m square or so waiting for some guy with a sniper rifle to take a potshot and waste me repeatedly. I'd rather be hunting around for intel and such, something with an objective and a limit in which to do it.

However, i seem to ALWAYS get dicked with being an insurgent.
