Im getting a new computer just atm so ill be able to run PRA2 with no problems, but i dont have OA. I also diskile ArmAs gameplay, its not so natural... Ill probably try out PRA2 at some point to see if its better, but i doubt, we will see.

You best be not talking about the Textures :-P , cause there's a reason why they are the way they are.

Never enjoyed ARMA and dont plan to download PR ARMA either. ARMA is too realistic for me, I don't enjoy spending hours to go across the map and just to get ambushed or something. Some like it, some dont each to their own 2 cents. But i rather not enjoy wasting my night to people acting like they are in the army and take it so serious they want you to salute and line up for the chopper... ehhh no thank you.

BF2 engine cant make things ultra realistic, for my reason to stick with BF2 PR.

You guys are worried about PR ARMA2 killing BF2 PR, BF2PR has been on a decline for a while, with lack of mature players, server admins becoming complete ****, communities dying off slowing, people growing up & moving on.

If anything, you'll see BF2 PR take a huge hit in the coming weeks with BF3 BETA and Release. The realistic realism folks will try it and come back at night to play PR again, but a good deal are gonna jump ship and start their character in BF3 and get unlocks. PR will always be alive long as new content and updates flow, population may be low, but alive.

I know last night around 10pm EST there was 5 servers with people, all US servers and UK servers and russian and china all empty. Which never use to happen.

Although I'm anxious to play PRA2, I will just have to conform in getting it + specs upgrade around Xmas or even a tad later.

But it's not like a major loss either. I'm pretty sure that after a few days I would get tired of all the warping and clunkiness and move back to PR:BF2 (also because of its massive content). Ofc that PRA2 is still highly enjoyable in its current state (as I've played once for many hours) and as soon as the guys in BI fix the netcode and other stuff I can imagine a massive migration. I believe that will be the time when we can actually say that PRBF2 is dying...but it's going to take a long time until that happens.

Plus, one thing that I fear and I don't see much talk about is the possibility of porting all PRA2 content to A3 and 1 year from now or 2 we will have to buy another game. Which sometimes make me question if I should wait a little longer...

My problem is just that PR got... old. The gameplay makes it hard to have exciting rounds.
Your doing it wrong ;)

best post so far in this thread :)

Every time another mod/game is released there is a decrease in the number of PRBF2 players, this is normal and something we are not afraid of.

PRBF2 will continue for some time yet - which is a testament to the community, the Dev team and in fact to EA - who's platform has survived so long against much newer shiner games.

BF2 as a whole will die, but not today chaps.

If ever. ARMA is simply not the same experience.

Only thing that will ever stop me from PR:BF2 is EA closing the master servers down, which is a hell of a long time away considering BF1942 servers are still alive and kickin'

I'm sure this will be the case for many PR fans :p

First off all: Saying PR has been dead for a couple of years was wrong. What I mean is the quality of PR these days is nothing like it used to be.
ShockUnitBlack wrote:Basically you're saying PR isn't as good as it used to be because... it got popular?

Honestly, Shock, I don't know what the reason is that the quality has been worse. The new patches, more people and me playing it for too long might be the reason.
Every round used to be a thrill, now, I seldom get one good round a day. This botheres me, as I love this mod more than any other games. Actually, this is the only game I play.
Spush;1660887']You best be not talking about the Textures :-P , cause there's a reason why they are the way they are.
I am not talking about the textures. You guys have done a great job with this mod, and I almost love you for that!
TBH , im sick of such comments . Agreed that its not giving the feeling as it used to but its not because of the quality is low anymore , its because ,it was the first time you ever played pr which took you away from yourself and felt like a god . I had the same feeling , i even remember which map and faction i was playing on . Think about it , do you have the same feeling when you first touch your hands onto a fresh game cd when it gets a bit older . I'd say no hence it's so alive and growing stronger !
You might have a point. As I said, I have played this mod for a long time.

This looks like me breaking up with a girl, or with PR, for that matter, but I'm not!
I'm still waiting for the perfect round that I've been missing for a very long time.

Then join a clan. Best tactical gameplay you can have.

I hate clans. I do not like the feeling of being forced to play with individuals

Then your complain doesent make sense, do you prefer playing with russians saying "how i get kit" on the squad chat, or do you prefer playing with english people, that know what they are doing, and besides there are lots of lolz.

Just join a clan and see it for yourself ;-)

I've been in clans, and I did not like it. And, for the record, I never play with Russians, not because they don't know how to grab a kit (which they most likely do), but because they don't speak English.

I can play with English people without being in a clan, can't I? The only servers I play on (TG, NWA, MERK), are all English-speaking servers, so that is not the issue.

I do get your point though. Playing with people over Teamspeak etc. is a lot funnier, and I often do that. I'd say that's pretty much like playing with a clan, without having to meet up for practice.

If he was on Mumble, and was speaking English, you should just help him out, shouldn't you?
