So i played PR using a steam downloaded BF2 and everything worked fine until i downloaded the recent new map pack.

After i downloaded the map pack my PR started to mess up. 1st when i entered the main menu the background music did not play anymore. also -no- servers would show up.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

I have to same problem as well (no music and empty server list). I have reinstalled PR, but that solved nothing.

I have tried the script suggested and it failed to find pr.exe in steam/...bf2/mods/pr/pr.exe (thus it doesn't work)

I have Win7 and steam version of BF2
Vanilla BF2 works fine.

Strange how it works fine last night and tomorrow it craps out.

Best guess is it's an issue between steam and PR.

I know I'm pretty much stating the obvious or what is already known here.

LoL!! Thank god I found this thread! Im running BF2 steam copy too and have exact same problem. No menu music and server browser doesnt show any servers. I thought I break my computer since I was overlocking my comp just before this happened. DD Tried to reinstall everything etc. Nothing works.

So I see the problem, seems like the steam copy isn't detecting mods properly. Not sure what's going on there, but it is affecting all mods. It's just that PR requires you to launch it in a very specific manner, so it breaks.

Anyway, simple fix is to just replace your bf2.exe with the retail exe. A proper fix will come in the next version of PR. Be sure to back up your bf2.exe just incase.

How do you exactly do this anyway? How do you replace your bf2.exe through steam?

Browse to <install directory>\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2, copy and paste bf2.exe to back it up, and extract the bf2.exe out of bf2_retail_exe.zip and overwrite the bf2.exe that is there.

Just got the fix, and I can get in game, and hear the music, yay! But... ops:

When I go to join a server, I double click, and automatically crashes, any idea?

As the title says. When ever I update it doesn't show anything. It won't find servers. And when I go to my favorites, the program keeps crashing.

whenever i open PR and go to find a server, absolutely no servers show up. I was just playing on Nwa this afternoon and now no servers show up. any fixes otherwise i will re install. Thanks

Are you running off of Steam?

yes but have never had a problem before

Try refresh or join ip, It may fixed itself.

edit:my favorite shows no server too?

PR is down for steam players. Unspecified duration. Check the servers you normally play on and connect by IP.

the fix is in the tech support forum section.
