Your system is overclocked right?

We're working on a hypothesis that BIOS option Turbo Boost is the cause of this, mostly on overclocked i5 and i7 K CPUs.
Boot up BIOS and disable Turbo Boost, save settings and start windows and PR as normal to test.
If no success, reboot, go to BIOS and re-enable, save and start windows.

Do you have a i7 2600 or i7 2600K? The other guy has a i7-2600k, we're wondering if it's due to Turbo Boost, ...long story but related to the SAndyBRidge recall in March 2011. How old is your CPU? before or after the SandyBRidge dye errors were fixed?

If you have the i7 2600, then we might have a problem with the HD69XX series of GPUS, and/or the drivers.

You both have HD 69XX's. Of course this is just conjecture based on circumstantial evidence...

I suggest downloading and installing either the Catalyst 12.1Beta or Catalyst 11.11 Drivers. Completely uninstall your current drivers and uninstall your video card in device manager, reboot, then do NOT let new hardware found wizard instal drivers. Then install the downloaded drivers.

I have an i7-2600 (no K). These processors also use Turbo Boost.

The recall was actually for the Cougar Point chipset, not the SB processor itself, and only affected SATA ports 2-5. I am using an ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Gen 3, so no issue there.

I ran PR fine with my 6950 1Gb, as well as with the 6970s, at least for a while. Currently using 11.12 drivers.

I'll try disabling Turbo Boost, as well as reverting to the 6950 on 11.11.

Hey, I just noticed the other thread (https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ost1737397) and you both have crossfire enabled... I seriously doubt it is the problem but try taking out one of your cards (or running the 6950 like you just said).

Psyrus -

I think you may be correct. I simply disabled Crossfire and was able to join a mumble server with no problem. I'll continue to test this and report back if anything changes.

Crossfire definitely seems to have been the issue.

Thank you for all the help, folks!

Solved/lock please.
