And there's really no excuse for not having a torrent client .. they have matured now to where they are dead easy to download, install and use and typically they don't have any unusual security requirements or issues.
What if your ISP blocks all peer 2 peer traffic leagal or not, like mine?.. and if you have a router that doesn't have port-forwarding, or isn't configured you'll block most of the incomming traffic AFAIK.
I'm on 4%

Yea, Peers seem pretty exclusive to me. Some lucky people it works for really quick, and others it doesn't. Mine was going strong in the beginning, then plumiated as it went on and the time went up.
Just give us a straight d/l instead of having to deal with all this other stuff. You know that not everyone will seed.

No offence guys but you've had some time to get your bittorrent's installed and tested - even thread tips in these here forums.
http://realitymod.com/forum/t10910-bitt ... hread.html
Sicadio - you should have an option to set the max upload speed go for 65-70% of your upstream maximum -
Yojimbo - your firewall may need adjusting or also lower your upload speed as above a bit.
Lugubrum - size depends on how they calculate it some, some say 1,000,000 - 1 mb but soemtimes it's caclced at 1024. as long as your torrent program checksums it OK then the download will be good.
Seed numbers should bounce around through the day, I for one will leave mine going till I'm ready to play later tonight, - then will bring it back up for the after. As will a lot of others.

Excellent! Thank you everyone!!!
It started slow, but now i'm at 600 kB/s.
You have to adjust down your upload speed while you're downloading. Go to tools>configuration>transfer in Azureus.

As noted direct download links will come.
Do you have ANY idea what it takes to release a piece of software as complex as this?
No .. didn't think so.
We were set up in a much better position until late last night when we discovered a punk buster error and had to kill the original file we had distributed for seeding and direct download links.
And we worked on solving that problem from about 9pm PST until around 4am this morning so we could make the release date.
As a result of making a new build and replacing the other one, the direct download links will take a little longer to get into place.
You can whine about those when we put them up

Hmmm free mod, with months of work by volunteers,
Like Eggman said a direct DL of this size costs in bandwidth either by the pipe speed or data transferred. Remember it's not just YOU getting the file it could be 100 x 1.6 GB probably more. That could cost these guys who are supplying big pipes out of there own pocket a lot.
If your ISP is limiting P2P or blocking it then start complaining that it is not just used for music, movies or other copyrighted material.
IU saw one thread about someone offering DVD's in the General forum I think...

I am connected to two dedicated servers in Germany. I am going at 600kb/s now

30 minutes left! I hope speeds stay this way
