Cheers guys,
HUDs haven't been coded yet and we are just using existing ones in PR. Both HUDs are wrong since the guns are in fact two
ADEN 30mm Cannon
A-4 Landing gear, rgr that, looks like its front gear doesn't like opening up that far into the air, not much of a problem tbh since Argentina is much lower down but still good to fix.
And yes the A-4 is a carrier aircraft, but its a CATOBAR carrier aircraft, not STOVL carrier aircraft like the Harrier so it wouldn't be able to land on a STOVL carrier like that in r/l, and hopefully once we have tweaked its code some more
Steeps5 wrote:I played a couple rounds as commander earlier today and the commander window (i.e. Caps Lock) seems to be kinda broken for both sides. First, I was only allowed one zoom level. Second, when I did zoom in that one level, I could not actually move the view around at all. As in when you click on the map the view normally follows.
Where were you on the map? Where you at either Argentina or on the Brit carrier?
Steeps5 wrote:And I'm sad that there isn't a UAV, should use like a recon plane
The problem with the "vBF2 UAV Radar" thing is it picks up everything and anything, even a guy hiding in a cave 50m under ground just from being over him.. This is why the Brit radar on the Carrier only reaches out over the sea, since its only going to pick up Jets and possibly a chopper if one is flying out that way, or possibly a pilot who has bailed out over there in the sea
It should also be noted that the British didn't actually have any
AEW aircraft during this war, which was one of the Brit's many failings in this war, as they expected if that if they went to war, they would be able to have AEW via NATO. This lead to the development of the Sea King AEW, but only came in after the war had ended.

Noticed light bleeding on some statics:
Seems to be the one with solid walls, not the wooden one.
Few problems with the Volkswagen van:
-it has too weak brakes
-there is no ammo count for its ammo box, you can drop it, but you cant see if you have it or not.
GB officer kit still has a GLTD hanging on his side, even though when you play it you only have green binoculars. The GLTD should be removed from kit geometry for release.
When in quadcannon, there is a white box in the bottom left corner of the screen, where normally your position in vehicle would show.

cheers, light bleeding is down to bad (automatic) Lightmap UVs, could somewhat fix it by bigger LMs but not worth it in performance costs.

I don't think I was actually ever on either the carrier or the mainland. I spent the entire matches on the islands themselves. It just generally wouldn't let me move the map around. I was having to press M and then N just to use ANY kind of map to zoom in.
Oh and only having one zoom level doesn't work too well on a 16km map if you get what I mean lol.

Another thing with the Westphalia. You can do the vanilla camera change by pressing C (basically 3rd Person View)

Here I found another one, bomb bug.
Rhino, you might need look into this.....
When in Argentina main(Airbase), I was onboard one mirage3 armed with bomb, and I pressed my right mouse botton and accidently droped a bomb when taxing. Then something weird just happened! The bomb exploded none of aircrafts on the ground were destoried or damaged, but the stationary AA 50m away was destoried!
I mean, those aircrafts just 10m inside the radius of explosion were ok, but AA far away got destoried.
BTW, I didn't bail out when bomb dropped, I and the mirage3 was just red screen but no serious damage of the aircraft, there were even no smoke...
Edit, tried other 2 bombs, still nothing happen on those aircrafts and myself...(Crates are fine too)
But I destoried every stationary AA nearby

Also since I was really bored the other day while downloading shit on Steam, I decided to herp around this in local.
The sinkhole at the Argentinian airfield seems to be around here:
(also have a picture of being underground but the SS is so bad that it doesnt really show much except for the concrete base of the fence)
Also one question. Are bug reports of West Falkland worth posting at this stage? I found another sinkhole (already documented it) while derping around some hamlet in prbot.

Alrighty then. The sinkhole seems to be in the middle of the hamlet (note the house static in the upper left of the first screen)

Hi I was just playing PR and got kicked by punkbuster... I havent played PR since the BETA and I have only Played the falkland map since I downloaded it. Now I get kicked from servers after 15min of gameplay. I suspect it's because I changed the files
What should I remove in the PR file to restore it to original?

It isn't the PR:F files, as they don't change any of the PR files, they only add to them, and are only loaded when the falklands map is running.
PB has been playing up for a lot of people recently, I got kicked a few times when testing PR: last weekend, had to update my PB then it was fine for me. Think PB has done another update and hasn't automatically updated for most people, so you need to manually update it.

Aha, ok! Thanks for the info!
It was really nice to try out the falklands.
Not sure if someone already reported this but I'll post it anyways.
When I had the Grenadier kit and tried to change the range sights for the M79. When the hud for ranges appears the regular hud(that always show up) appears aswell at the same time.
Tried to update PB several times but it does not work!
It says something about a file namned: serverarchives blabla does not match...

humm that is odd, that dose sound like something in the mod was modified, but if you installed the mod correctly it shouldn't be.
To remove the mod, just go into \EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\ and delete the "the_falklands" folder, that will remove the mod but I doubt it will help with the above problem.
If that doesn't work, you might need to reinstall PR.

serverachives.con has nothing to do with the falklands. It however has everything to do with the soundmod.
But that's also weird since the soundmod was enabled on the PRTA falklands server. Did you have soundmod enabled? If so, what version?

I think he is talking about other servers, that he is getting kicked from other servers than PRTA, from vanilla PR. Is it possible that you have soundmod enabled and you are trying to play on servers that dont support it, DavviZ?

I had that after removing soundmod.
I had to get vanilla (unmodified) serverarchives.con files from someone else cut copy and sorted.

here you go my friend:
serverarchives.con
and ploddit, once you have done that. Just use the exact instructions in the auto-extractor of 0.5. Then you can enjoy the soundmod without having broken files. It will work if you do it correctly.

Was bored...decided to fire it up to learn how to fly. Decided to crash with the Harrier. That crash made an discovery.
It would appear that a good chunk of the Western isle is a giant sinkhole. Basically everything south of the red border (well almost...the 2nd picture should give you a better idea as it shows the actual heading of the "border") sinks down
