Would desert campaign in North Africa be difficult? Something like black gold/kashan except smaller. Have it between the Afrika corps and the British. I think it could work well as the mod already has all the german equipment as well as the Enfield rifle for the British. "All" that would be needed is a British faction as well as a few reskins of vehicles.
P.S And a Bren gun of course but i think someone is already making it for the Falkland's mod.

It would be tons of work. But not impossible ;) Just like with all other factions and maps. It takes time and people. But would indeed be cool to expand the front to Africa. Some interesting map locations.

I think we have a lot of weapons for the Brits, but dont have anything that looks like British soldiers.

Yea, the Thompson and the Lee-Enfield, it makes almost every kit we need. :p

you only need stens and a bren. (although Stens werent extensively used in desert conditions and the sand effected them pretty badly.

as for africa campaign i think that would be amazing, plus that way you'll have scope for the planes that Hereux was telling me about as you could make a 4k desert map with brits (8th army) vs the Afrika korps, for Germans you already have all the models, including vehicles (although reskins will be neccessary). of course the 8th army would take a bit of work, but as has been said, weapons wise its mostly there and i think it would be awesome!

btw Heroux it was awesome talking to you about all this kind of thing yesterday haha

EDIT: OR OPERATION MARKET GARDEN!!! that would be awesome, brits spawn/parachute in on one side of Arnhem bridge, the germans on the other side, first flag for both teams is the town, then either side of the bridge then finally the bridge itself, would be so cool!.

RAF, about desert it's quite possible indeed, Operation Market Garden is more likely though.

It was fun talking with you on that Ramiel round, you guys inspired me and now I'm back working on the mod with the team :P

I am sad that new version doesn't include Project Normandy and I don't like new version because of performance issues ( I have rarely 25-30 fps, I have min. 30 fps in previous ver. ) ( in comparison, v0.98 was awesome ).
I hope you are working for release PN stand alone version.
I have a suggestion for new maps:
it will be cool and awesome that you make paris city map.
there is two faction; one Germans and another French urban resistance fighters.
it is better to be like fellujah or basra ( I prefer fellujah because of more urban are )
it can support AAS and Insurgency gameplay mode.
women can be like ( there are men in fellujah who don't have gun ( just binocular and grappling hook, I don't recall their names )
and I am sure it wil be super awesome.
by the way it is my opinion.
but the main point in this map is, designing Paris urban area like original.

Yeah me too I lag way more in PR than before, I'll need to upgrade my PC.

PN will be released through the launcher and incorporated into PR hopefully.

Making a Paris map would need TONS of new statics (buildings, bridges, constructions, etc). It's simply not feasable right now, also the french faction itself wouldn't be hard to make, but it's still something more to do over all the stuff we have already in mind right now. Though it could be cool.

Well, no, we may have some weapons, but we certainly have no kit geometries that look anything like the Brits.

Noo do the desert campaign, we already have green fields and hedgerows, i do like playing in them, brecourt assault is possibly my favourite map of all time. Market Garden sounds cool but i think the desert would be awesome plus it would allow you to fully utilize those planes and tanks you have.

Sure, it's only a matter of you learning how to map.

The North African campaign had tanks such as the Panzer III and the Crusader, which we don't have, we only have the Panzer IV, the Stug, the Sherman and the Pershing and I think that, the Panzer IV is only one from the list that saw combat on North Africa, but in a different version from what we have.

Not only that, the Netherlands not even close to being the same thing as Normandy.

But as Arc said above, you are free to try doing it.

It's just my opinion and hopes, telling me that i should learn how to map is such a cliche' thing to say on these forums, i'm not good at that sort of thing, nor do i have the time to learn. Sorry. As for the tanks used in North Africa, it would just be way too time consuming to make it 100% accurate so maybe placeholders would be better and besides only a few people would actually know the difference and care about it.
Remember it was just a suggestion/idea i had, i'm not demanding it be made at once. ;)

Afterdune, i was kidding haha, it was a joke made between myself and Heureux in game :P but seriously, desert or market garden would be great, also market garden was acctually affiliated with the DDay landings so thats where youre wrong Shadowfox. with regard to desert, tanks, i agree, but weapons and planes are a possibility (or so i've heard) :)

We have a Panzer III in the mod.

U.S. fought in Operation Market Garden which took place in Holland WHICH IS VERY different than Normandy, it's mostly great open windy plains with ditches and roads with villages and windmills through it. It would be a very interesting front.

U.S. fought in the Desert Campaigns too btw.

I meant terrain-wise, some Dutch guys may come in here and point some differences, but what LHeureux said above pretty much describes what I meant.

I know it might feel cliche saying "do it yourself", but suggestions about materializing a new theater of war isn't exactly something that went over our heads. We can try and make things happen but manpower is needed for such.
