Ironic that I actually posted in that thread 3-4 times yet couldn't remember it. I remember it now, and liked all of your suggestions, one of which has been implemented in DBs Server mod, which I feel improves insurgency immensely.

So hats off to you for that comprehensive suggestion - wish you'd linked to it in your original post so I didn't have to proverbially insert my foot into my mouth for picking your post to launch off

It's a dying mod, the game's old. It's also prohibitively difficult for new players to get into. The game crashes a lot for all-manner of reasons (mumble/server/game). Also, there's a few too many bad attitudes on some servers from some moderators/players towards others that can quickly take the fun out of playing.

It'd be nice to see a new version bring new life to the game, but I wouldn't count on it.

For PR to survive it's going to need to move on to BF3 or something.

PR is cursed, i tell you. TOday i decided to play after a long time. Its morning, so i wasnt expecting epic teamwork from anybody. Satisfied with the situation on CIA, Fallujah came next, i was eagerl waiting for a fresh round so i can SL and whatnot. Nope, server crashes. We play a full round of Asad to seeed it, then Fallujah again. And it crashes again... Asad was player throughout again i believe, but i left...

Holy shit. If i go play in the evening, i will expect higher lvl of teamwork, but all ill get is some shit that makes me want to kill innocent animals.

I can never get a good game going, for gods sake.

Did. Was fail, but good effort, now i dont have the time.

Did. Some of the staff was fail.

So, yeah. I am part of the solution, but not in PRTA, im just a passive part of the solution there.

Arnold you are just complaining. nothing is going to change. Make a suggestion to improve things. The state the servers are in. If it is so bad. Why are you not willing to put time in to solve it.

Make a suggestion to improve things. I can make a suggestion. But then the answer will again be: "Arnold, you are just whining...". And its like suggesting to make the world a better place. Impossibru, world is 90% idiots, PR is 90% idiots and unless a miracle happens, its going to stay that way. Only possible way would be to, yes, simply get rid of "bad players", but then PR would lose its numbers... I dont know. im not putting up a suggestion because there is no friggin point.

I have however suggested some thing regarding random map lists including all maps, so people would play everything not only Muttrah, like CoD kids.

Well, passive solution... Im not an admin, im not in tart, but when im on PRTA, i pay special attention to report stuff and try to help on my level, bit more than on other server, and i always play by the rules. So, im not the trouble maker, quite the opposite, and i dont need to be in any elevated position to be involved in the good cause.

Said it before and I'll say it again, don't enforce mumble if you want people to play and keep coming back. Advertise it for players to choose for themselves, not force upon. Inb4 mumble owns ur a noob.

Damn straight, enforcing mumble is the best way to kill PR not anything else. why dont servers put all non mumble users onto the insurgent side or something. it will be realistic for the non-NATO team to have bad communications anyway.

CIA server plays enforced mumble and it still seems to be going strong. I personally get annoyed when half the team isn't on mumble as it is so much better than ingame VOIP.
People just need to install the correct version of Mumble and then they are (usually) sweet.

Yeah, people who come back are of better quality though, and thats what matters. I dont like narrow minded people plaguing the servers i play on, and thats what enforcing mumble does, to some degree. There is enough low quality non mumble servers for people like you, but im a more sophisticated man in search for better gameplay.

If it were for me, I'd gladly make PR a lot more damning and difficult to learn. That way uncommitted and narrow minded (yes I'm implying at you Scared but also the rest) people would get scared off from PR. We might be left behind with only one server but alteast it would be quality at it's finest.

we are enforcing mumble on cia and we still have a full server nearly 24/24. If you dont want to use mumble they are several other server option on US and euro side. We warn several time before kicking for mumble and we dont hesitate to help players to install mumble will they are in game, its take only 30 seconde to set up. If you do not want to use mumble you will not be able to ear 95% of player in sqd chat in our server because we all use it instead of the voip for the better quality that mumble provide. Even if you dont like mumble its not a big deal. Just start it and use the voip if you dont want to use mumble to speak. Just dont mute your sound.
