The camel is such a gimmick... It was built with another mod in mind, and one in which realism was stretched pretty thin. I can't believe I'm still talking about the camel here, but ok, let's have it.

So let's theorize here.

Camel's that poop mines. Real? HARDLY.
Magic carpets? HARDLY.

Would it be a civi if it shat mines? Hardly. It's coded as a vehicle. That's the only way it could be mobile.
Mines? Because in PR you have to lay the mine, and *hopefully* mark it (sans noobian princesses).

Could it possibly carry an ammo box, and drop that? Maybe more realistic.
Could it be coded sort of like the command APC and tents, to where you could order a kit off of it? Yes.

Insurgent mode with a civi kit that could be ordered off of it, and a droppable ammo box might be more like something that would be more realistic. But then again, the only way I could get it to move required that the model's legs stay stationary (they can't move, animate, walk, etc., a limitation of the BF2 game engine).

So how far of a stretch of realism would a magic carpet riding, civi kit giving, mechanical-looking, camel, would this be?

Not very PR if you ask me. I voted NO.

Seriously, just to pull the suspense out of this more, but a PR camel may or may not be what I'm looking for. Maybe I've said too much or maybe I haven't said enough. In any case, the camel is a side show, and you're more than free to keep your heads spinning on this. :P

Imo, this should be taken seriously.

Come on, what makes INS maps more immersive than a group ride on camels?

Charge at Soviet Hind(if 1.0v has it) in group of Camel riders like in Rambo movie? Sure.

Shoot M249 while riding on donkey? Why not?

At least animals would not crash and explode on the slightest bump*stares at bikes*.

LOKE, asking to join the mod team as a modeller is not something you need to hide away from the public...

No one joins directly into the mod team these days, no matter how much of a portfolio they have. Everyone needs to work there way into the team by proving themselves by first doing work outside of the team, either for community factions, mini-mods or something you feel the mod needs (like a new map or weapon/vehicle, but if a weapon/vehicle, ask first if its really needed, don't make something that we can't use). Once you've done some stuff we like they get promoted to R-CON, and then after proving themselves as an R-CON they go to full R-DEV status. This is how I and pretty much everyone else on the team has gotten into it, other than the very first founding members.

If your looking for something to work on some community tasks for PR:F here:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f388-p ... tasks.html

If you want any others, ask in the community modding forums as there is PR:N and also lots of community factions that need help too :)

Anyways since this topic has served its purpose and shouldn't be here anyways I'm locking it.
