The 12.7 seems like it has an AAA reticule on it to me and no zoom. Perhaps its a light AAA variant? ;)

The supposedly magic bullet that pens 9.5mm of steel at 300m and is environmentally friendly(lol).

If MT-LB is 10mm armour...I am not expecting it to bounce too much.
It's lead-free, that's where the "environmentally friendly" claim comes in. But if you don't clean up after yourself, whether it's projectiles, casings, or dead bodies, you're still a litterbug. Shame.

I believe you're thinking of the M855A1 EPR (Enhanced Performance Round). M855A1 by itself is just lead-free. I've seen the claims, too. But from what I understand it's to be issued not just Army wide, but to all of the other services.
USMC was supposed to get something called "MK318" or something?
Yes, that's pretty much a match-grade round; used to be limited to SOCOM, which is why it has a "Mk" rather than an "M" designation. For some reason SOCOM adopted the US Navy designation system for its purchases, but I'm guessing it was because the first name of the Commanding Officer of SOCOM at the time was "Admiral"

The Marines aren't doing away with the M855 series, though. The supposed plan is to issue the different types of ammunition based on tasks and terrain, because the Mk-318 has better performance when fired through barriers.

It does get muddled, though, because there's yet another formerly SOCOM-only match grade 5.56mm round, the Mk-262, that gets issued to designated marksmen. Again, in all services.

Umm...question is who would want to fire small arms at an APC? That's like ringing the dinner bell.

If small arms go through the side of APC, for example, why not?

Many times I have fired small arms to get the attention of an APC even a tank to distract them long enough to allow a player with a HAT reload, or from seeing an approaching friendly tank. Doesn't always work but worth a try once in a while. Surprising how many gunners will get distracted and ultimately die ;)

... You can scare an inexperienced crew or thoroughly annoy a veteran one.
