What are all the long range US rifles for?

I guess USMC and US Army have different layouts but as far as I can see there is:

M4 DMR
M14 EBR
M14 Scope/unscope
SPR silenced/unsilenced

are these replacing the current sniper rifles as well as DMR's, either way that is 6 different variants to fit 4 slots?

Im pretty sure the M4 DMR is the alt US army marksman, the M14 EBR is the US army standard marksman, the M14 scoped is for vietnam, SPR is the standard marksman for the USMC and the silenced version being the alt kit.

the release of bf4 is like an annoying little sister on her way home compared to this lush mod. my socks are jetting up through the stratosphere as we speak.

Just my thoughts:
US Army: M14 EBR (with M4 DMR as alternate)
USMC: SPR
Vietnam: M14

I guess the G36 will have scope and red dot now?
Maybe even get the Zeiss red dot in future time?

Will there be a version of the Famas grenade launcher with the M203 or just the grenades shown on the picutre?

So what about an M27 IAR for US Marines? My dads done live fire with them, and according to him, the weapon is already widely in use with Marines in combat, and they're already phasing out M16A4s(*EDIT-this was an error- I meant to say M249s) to replace them with IARs.

+US Army. Still using ACU in PR. Will they be updated to multicam?

I really enjoyed this analogy.

what about balance issues? from the looks of it not all factions get rifles with back up sights
is there going to be a "look over scope" option instead of iron sights for non backup weapons?
for say... the M4 etc.?

M16A1 DMR is my favorite.

I was thinking the exact same thing as bluedrake. The brits use the same scope as the americans on their rifles and yet from what i can tell the americans dont get a dot sight, even though soldiers in afghanista use them. Is it a possibilty or are the americans getting shafted?

Different military, different gear and standard operating procedures. Not every military runs BUIS.

While not exactly BUIS, doesnt the red line on the ACOGs serve as a cqc help.

Nvm: Apparently i mixed that up with the both eyes open aiming technique.

Will PR 1.0 have a option to marry it?
