Its "Hang on". He obviously has some sort of brilliant plan that he expressed to show in the previous page.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:I'm sorry but did you just tell me to go and hang myself?

Why not have the T-62 just be the t-62?smgunsftw wrote: T-62 (T-72 can be placeholder)
What I said was a 1/2 assed job was using Modern Russians vs Taliban.... Naturally a lot of the stuff needed to make the 1980's USSR kit is already ingame, its just a matter of putting it all together into some new factions and then filling in the blanks where possible, using place holders where there isn't the correct item ingame, but working towards getting those correct items ingame at the same time, in much the same way as I've done PR:F....smgunsftw wrote:Not to bother you again Rhino, but a half-assed job of a Soviet-Afghan war setting is possible from current and 1.0 assets. Most players wouldn't mind the camouflage errors. All that we really need a suitable map.
I think he thinks the T-62 ingame is a T-54...gx wrote:Why not have the T-62 just be the t-62?

The taliban just really needs to be renamed in order for a soviet-afghan war minimod. I mean their weapons are still the same (maybe not the AK-74 but most of their weapons)[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:*ahem*
+ I've mentioned it many other times before too...
As I said before in this topic, if that conflict was to be represented in PR it should be done correctly, which means crating a new "Soviet" AND "Mujahideen" factions with the correct weapons etc.
The bigger problem is actually maps, since while we have Afghan maps like Op Archer etc that could be used, currently we have no way of swapping out the voices for different layers of the map, so the map would most likley need to be cloned to have two sets of voices (which isn't going to happen as we are not going to have double the map size just so we can swap voices) or it means making new maps, or taking old ones and making them JUST for this conflict, with no modern Afghan layer on them...
Ye, anyone got any sources on how common it was? From what I can tell that guy with one in the pic above might just be a one off?DavviZ wrote:It's a czech Zb vz. 26!

Well the Gulf War was mainly in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the SW of Iraq and don't think any fighting with coalition forces even each Al Basrah (the main city in the SW) before the war was over. So pretty much all our Iraqi maps are out of the picture, Burning Sands may pass since its a fictional map BUT would have to be the 1990 Brits vs Iraq without the teams being re-sorted since you've got the voice problems, and for that we would need a Challenger 1 tank (pretty different from the Challenger 2 we've got ingame) as well as quite a lot of other stuff that's different, Kashan may pass but the name Kashan is technically in Iran, but the map is fictional. But we do have one new map in the works which shall remain unnamed that might fit the bill well but that's really about it.Blackburn92xBHD wrote:no real maps? you can do an ALT layer on almost every iraq map like US 90's vs. husseins army
